How to build a CO2 regulator for your calcium reactor.

How many psi is the low pressure gauge?

200psi but was thinking that I would replace both gauges with new ones. So far it has been working great though.

It should be fine. You don't really need a lower reading gauge if everything is dialed in.

Hoke 1300 Fittings

Hoke 1300 Fittings

Hello, I purchased a Hoke 1300 (hoke 1335g3ymm) meter valve and need help finding the fittings to connect it to the 1/8 male side of the Swagelok (SS-4-RSE-2) Fitting Elbow.

The Hoke 1300 uses a 3mm Gyrolok, what fitting do I need to attach it to the elbow?

In the original post Swagelok SS-400-R-2 is used to attach it to the Co2 tube, but not the elbow side.

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any metric to imperial tube conversion fittings. Any thoughts alanle?

Can you post a picture of the parts layout? Gyrolock and Swagelok ferrules are interchangeable.

alanle curious... after all these years and building these, what is your current setup and how long have you been using it? Or do you just keep switching around like new cars for fun?

I just want to chime in...I followed alane's advice and couldn't be happier! While the quality parts are not dirt cheap, compared to the cost of a high quality reactor setup, it's a bargain. I set the bubble rate and a month later it's still the same. Nice.

I had a reactor with cheap/junk parts. What a hassle.

Thank you alane!

Alan, I have the solution for swagelok 1/8 tube port, it is a more sturdy adapter, It is in the picture of above post.

It took a while before I start making new co2 system again, actually about 4 month, did research and looked for parts and new solutions...
And during that time I've got what I wanted, have more info to fill a new metering valve selection thread, posted in TPT. I also try to post the info here but not eligible to start a thread, yet.

I just received my new regulator today. I also have an older Swagelok valve. My question next is the output on the regulator is not 1/4"...maybe 3/8? Can anyone tell from the pic of the regulator? It's a Uniweld RH3018. Also...will I need to change it the low pressure meter? Thanks!

the output port is 1/4 female npt, you need to take out the adapter fitting(red plastic cap in the picture).
the low pressure meter, I assume that you are talking about the low pressure gauge, you can leave it on the regulator.
and that model of swagelok/nupro bonnet needle valve is not good to use, it can't handle the low co2 flow control.
