How to keep a Heteractis Magnifica happy...

Hey everyone,

I am starting a new project, a 29gal. Ocellaris Clown only tank with 44lbs. of Fiji LR. The only other thing I wish to add is a Heteractis Magnifica, I might also add some Ricordea and some Poylps to make things colorful. I know that h. magnifica are notoriously hard to keep, but I also know that it can be done. The type of things I am interested in are, where to find and buy quality, colorful (blue, pink, or purple foot), healthy h. magnificas. Also any general or specific info on how to care for and feed them as well. All information is welcome and will be extremely helpful in this pet project of mine. Thanks everyone.

29gal is too small for a healthy H. magnifica. Mine outgrew its 60gal within months and it quite literally took up 2/3 of a 36"x18" space. Unfortunately, if that is the tank you can provide, then best way to keep an H. magnifica happy is to leave it in the ocean.

A 29gal is a great size for a BTA dominated tank or maybe even M. doreensis(have sand).

Good luck.
