How to keep an Idiot busy...150DD

these are pretty nice looking :)

Very nice tank. I also like the dd tanks. I was trying to talk the wife into a custom built tank (6'x6'x18")and I thought she was gonna have a meltdown and kill me in my sleep, lol. I also love the mantis shrimp. They are very cool little critters.

Thanks. I know my tank is the right size because my wife hates how big it is but not enough to get rid of it. She was pretty upset the day I got it. Apparently the cardboard mockup I made in the living room before I bought it was misleading.:hmm5:

Out of curiosity, where did you find that massive filter sock and mount?

BRS.7" If your handy with acrylic I could let you borrow it to make your own. I don't run it to often.

How do you like the water blaster 10000? Im looking at pumps now. How much head height do you have? Mine will be about 9'.

You need to add this to you signature!

About 8' piped in 1 1/2 with 3 dwv elbows and the last 1' drops to one inch with 3 more elbows. It moves alot of water, with it wide open the return in the back of the tank moves the gravel in the front of the tank if pointed at the front glass. even with the other feeds for the 29 and reactor open I have to back off a lot to have the 3-5 times turnover. I don't have much to compare it to kinda new at this, but I ran a mag 9.5 on my old tank. I liked the mag but this is more energy efficient. One day I will add the flexible pvc or tubing between the pump and first pipe bracket, but I would expect some vibration from any pump this large. And it has gotten much quieter since it broke in. PC had a good price if you like to shop locally.

Ha, yeah I should.

After seeing my signature my wife would like everyone to know how small our living room is. It is small really and the tank in there is kinda like a 60'' flatscreen in a RV. I see nothing wrong with that.
Well my calcium dosing went from .8 liters a day to 3.3 liters a day which is my evaporation rate. So looks like I have to start with the two part now. Growth is so much better than it was in my old setup. I couldn't get rid of the oil slick on the surface and ended up piping the return opposite corner of the overflow and having the water push towards it made all the difference. I lost the possum wrasse and female flasher wrasse from the clowns aggression and will never put another damsel fish in my tank. So I sold the clowns and I also sold the rbta too make more room. I added all the liverock I had in the basement to give it a fuller look. colors are still alittle pale, I need more fish so I can get some coral food in the tank. I'll get some full tank shots soon and the stuff I got from ffm. Thanks for looking.
