Huge GHL CHILLING Announcement

"With my new. in the works, 400+ system I would need 4 just to be within the parameters, possibly several more to be stable"

Sean,
I did not know you were going bigger. That will be cool. Let me know if you need help down the road. Six units would be crazy, but if there energy effiecient, then well worth it.

I am waiting on prices like everyone else.

Hey Wellington,
I had planned to get a 54"W x 54"D x 24"H cube.
But the price increase for a 54"x 54" bottom piece of acrylic shot the whole project up way too high as it would be too custom.

Steve (Jar*Head) has been helping me out to no end with this project.
He has found a good deal on gettineg me a custom tank built to 60"W x 48"D x 24"H with a custom backwall and bottom bulkheads for considerably less.

Going to be a pain to heat and chill it though.
That's why this new product has me so interested.

Need to wait another month to find the apporoximate pricing though in order to see if this is a realistic solution for me.

Sean,
That's cool. I think that would be an awesome size tank. Do you plan on putting it where the 180 is now?

Hopefully these new chillers will be priced reasonable and can suit both our needs.

Yep, going right there.
I will sell the 180 for a good deal for someone.
It's the 180 AGA with the dual mega overflows with Durso's.
Heck it has 4, 1.5" bulkheads drilled in the back and it already as custom fitted Starboard in it....it's pimped and ready to move. :)

Should be able to get it out before the wife nags about "why the hell is that tank still here?!?"

Another question, how exactly will these be setup? I have not ever used a chiller and never heard of this peltier method, will there be a pump included that will bring the water to the PTC?

Peltier cooling is nothing new, it's basically a plate that has voltage across it. On one side it cools and on the other it heats. They usually use it for cooling overclocked PC's.

Are those figures conservative? I have a 900 on my 210G and its chilling it just fine. I have tons of power on this tank between lighting and skimmers and pumps. I keep it right beside the tank - although at MAX I did see a really cool way to put it inside the stand - place the unit inside, but cut a hole in the stand so the fans on one side are drawing air from outside the stand. I'm having my stand cut next week and can post some pictures, it was really cool and probably the only chiller that can run UNDER your tank.

I might try one of these on a 55G that I'm setting up, interested in seeing some more prices/pix/spec of the PTC3.

Me too :D . Sean i saw that picture 2 weeks ago.

I think it was a hint.:rolleye1:

I hope to have prices next week, shipping we are planning for mid May by sea freight along with SMS modules

I JUST saw it on your site while I was looking at controllers.
I am considering one but dont really know what a controller will do for me other than control my lights.

......but dont really know what a controller will do for me other than control my lights.

Control your:

Lights
Temp (different ones for day and night if desired)
Top off water
Pumps
Feed pause pumps and skimmer
etc.

I was the same way at first now I automate the tank
more and have more time to enjoy it

Sean,
You can come over and see mine once I get my tank set up. I am using it to control my lights, a fan, CO2 solenoid, tunze streams, calcium reactor feed pump and ozone. I just about have it programmed and ready to go. Hopefully I will use it to control the chiller in the future.

I think it is well worth the money.

Hi Sean
