I crashed today!!!

Glad to see your ok and where protection. I have personally been down atleast a half dozen times and let me tell you road rash is no fun. But i can say that i learned the hard way how much the right protection and right equipment help. I will never ride with a bald back tire or a suspension that isnt tuned atleast as good as a stock one can be tuned. I had Chad from kinetic Motorsports tune my 03 750 at Jennings when i did the free track day a few years back and it is an amazing difference in handling. I went from doing ok to having my knee on the ground within 1 session of having it tuned. When puttng air in your tire leave it like 3 lbs low of the desired pressure due to the pressure increase when the tire heats up. If i remember correctly i ran mine at 33lbs cold.

Hes a great guy and super knowledgable. Just wait till you put it to the test. You will love it.

Man glad to see you are alright. I have seen so many bike crashes it is really scary sometimes.

Very good to see you are wearing the proper gear though. Road rash is one of the worst injuries I have ever seen.
road rash is the most pain i have ever been through. i went down leaving cleawater beach on thos s-turns(not too far from the hospital-lol) doing 70+. i had a bruised kidney and ribs(sucks when you have to pee) which hurts but is nothing compared to when they put you in that whirlpool tub and scrub the tar out of your roadrashed scars(no medication). i screamed like a little girl-lol. i had the helmet but not the leathers. i had bike parts all over the road and parking lots next to the road. happy to see your ok and good luck.

I helped a kid several weeks ago that lost it on Veterans going about 80. He saw a cop on the side of the highway, tapped his front brake and went over the front. Had he not been wearing a full face helmet he would have been without a face.

He broke his leg, and many fingers on both hands, it was not pretty.

What amazed me the most was no one but myself got out of their cars to help the kid, the all stared and drove on.

That kid was lucky to have survived that one.

--gald to hear you came out of it in good shape.

Glad you made it out OK, count your blessings--something to be thankful for this season. Word of advice, you want to ride 80 mph plus, push your bike, test it, etc...take it to a track and stay out of traffic.

It is safer for you and your Fellow Motorists on the open roads.

Be Safe...

Thanks the the rules of the USAF, when I crashed my bike in LA on the way back to the base from the beach, I survived. We were not allowed to ride without a helmet or we were subject to disciplinary action. So I rode with shorts and a t-shirt and a helmet. I broke all 8 fingers and wore a hole through the helmet, but I lived.

And none the worst for wear :)

Yep, those rules are still in affect. Too many young troops were victims of motorcycle accidents each year - had to do something. Testosterone, crotch rockets, and speed.....deadly combination at times. Ol saying, no good news comes between midnight and 5 am. Over the course of many years, can't tell you how many times I have recv'd the dreaded call---usually corresponds to a long weekend (4th of JUL, etc).

Later,

Wow! Glad your ok.

Yep when I bought mine I got the sermon from the owner that was going out of business. He told me the old "2 kinds of riders" story as well.

Did you know you had a suspension problem? Sounds like you did. Not that it makes it any better. Yep very smart that you ride with leathers etc otherwise you'd be buying a 5 gallon bucket of neo-sporin right about now.

Keep the shiny side up!

Chris

the suspension was the same as it was when i went to jennings in october...i honestly think it was the road. I have taken that turn at faster speeds with the same setups and not had any problems...well i guess i'll never know. My buddy said he drove past it today and saw tire marks on the wall and my new gouges in the road
