I got a fever! bowhunter support group needed!

I'm psyched. I still need to put out the trail camera though. I should bring it with me and get it out tomorrow evening. Oct 15 seems so far away still. I can't wait to get out in the woods.

Cully, if you're ever in the Rochester area (actually 1 hour south) you are more than welcome to bowhunt on the land I do (70+ acres).

Ohio bow season started last weekend and I would have been out but have a broken ankle. I am hoping to at least make it out for gun season but not sure I am going to make it this year. It sucks but hope everyone has some good luck and get some nice deer!

Couldn't locate the official thread lol...

Is it wrong that I JUST got my license, 6 new arrows, and am trying Grim Reapers for the first time??? OOOps!

Anyways...I was amazed that with totally different arrows/broadheads I was still shooting in my "pie plate" and didn't make ANY adjustments.

Scooted up to the woods this morning and climbed up in my stand...still solid, still safe!

Best of luck to all who go out this weekend! Be safe and shoot straight!

Excitement is beyond words. Had 4 does in my back yard yesterday to boot. That didn't help things. I can taste the venison already!

Eh I just got my license yesterday. Still using my rage two blade. Been out to the 3d range a couple times. I've actually stayed out of the woods I hunt, but I've been there for the past few years. So I have a good idea of the trails. Good luck to all.

I hear ya....the other four in our fam have been hacking/sneezing for a week. It's a miracle I'm still healthy!

Cough Silencer? Seen those? It's entertaining to watch my bro in-law use his then watch him blow snot all over cuz the can is baffled too much lol.

Not coughing too bad yet, but with my luck. I was amazed the does I was watching last year weren't even phased.

House in the backround is about 1000'+.Deer are between 40-50 yds from where I took the pic.In the second pic theres a few mature producing apple trees. This is pretty much where I hunt for the most part.
Anyway,goodluck guys.

Sweet!

What are you using for broadheads?

I love my NAP Razorcap broadheads. http://www.newarchery.com/products/1-9/broadheads/razorcaps.html

Anyone notice they put the sunrise and sunset times in the NYS hunting guide this year? I don't ever remember seeing that before. I've actually got some pics of deer on my trail camera. I just need to download them onto my computer Saturday during the day to see them all.

Good luck everyone, and be safe.

So in addition to getting busted by a doe 10 feet before entering the woods at 5:30 and the wind sucking royally. The guy who gave me permission to hunt his land last week, failed to tell me......he doesn't own it anymore!!! Got into it with a few guys in the woods today over the particulars. No biggie, still have another option.

Anyone have any success this am?

Anyone

Thats stinks Cully!

Saw 3 doe, then 2 doe, then a spike chasing a doe with his head down...no shooters.

Just came in for lunch, watching radar and headed back out as soon as this batch of hvy rain passes.

Well today was a bust. Only deer I saw was in the small field across from where I parked. About 12 does. What a miserable opening day. Took me most of the ride home to get warm again.

I concur...came home and went back out around 1...only made it 'til 4:20 before I gave up...soaked and cold.

On the plus side, it was awesome that while I was taking a wicked hot shower, our 4 yr old daughter came in and left some hot cocoa on the sink for me ;)

Yeah. I got rained out this afternoon too. I saw 4 doe total, tried to make a couple stalks, but got busted with the wind.
