I-Tech Skimmer Club .

These are some really cool looking skimmers. My next purchase is skimmer and this is also on my list. Great looking product.
 
My 100 is on the way too with Tunze. I'll post some pics/review. It will be a little while though as I am still building the side saddle gravity fed sump and stand for the sump.

My I-Tech XL Super Beast , is going strong . I never have to adjust anything . I unplug the the feed pump , and the RC pump ,and remove the cup for cleaning . After cleaning the cup , I reinstall it , and turn on the pumps .

I'm not sure of the reliability/restart issues with the octo 200 although I do know that they are essentially the same as the MSX 200. If it's working for you then I would see no reason to change. You may be able to add the ATB purple pinwheel's to that to improve skimming performance but with that said... I would switch to the I-Tech.

I ordered a 400 from John and called this weekend to give my payment info. I noticed today that the money was removed from my account but have received zero info as to whether or not the skimmer has even been shipped. Is it normal for them to have you pay before they ship your merchandise? Seems a little strange to me!
 
That sounds more like normal to me. Guess I'll know I got one if the UPS man brings one to me! Still no word from John. Everyone talks about how great customer service has been I would say mine has been adequate at best. I understand that they are busy but a confirmation as to why money has been taken from my account would be nice! I'll give them a little more time before I get too ****ed. I still have faith that they will make it right.
 
Just heard from John and it seems that there was some kind of problem through UPS. They sould have sent me an e-mail w/tracking # but for some reason I didn't get one. Like I said I knew the would make it right. I know they're really busy. At any rate skimmer should be here tomorrow.

What tank are you using the 400 on?
 
No, I am waiting on construction of our new home to complete to start the build. At this point I'm just buying equipment that will be used on the tank. Looking at controllers now that the skimmer has been purchased. Leaning twards the RKE but need to research more. The tank is going to be an in-wall in the basement that I'm finishing my self. Present tank will go into a rubbermaid much like mflamb did.
 
nice, I ordered a 400 with the tunze pumps for a Marineland 200 DD tank. Like you I'm presently getting equipment that I will be using. I was looking at the RK lite.
 
I was looking at the rk lite also. Still have not been able to set my skimmer up yet. Builder made an error on my stand so they are coming back to fix it after the weekend
 
That sucks, hope you get a guarantee in case something goes wrong.

I'm thinking of putting my 400 on my 75 just so I can see it in action. Don't think I can wait till I get the new tank up and running.
