I-Tech Skimmer Club .

You guys are going to love your new skimmers. This is mine it is one of the first ones built and its on my 90 gal with a 40 gal fuge/frag tank. Its the best skimmer i have owned so far very easy to get it dialed in. Got the aquabee on mine but I'm sure the sedra would do just as well in fact I'm thinking about getting a sedra for it. When I get a larger tank I will just add another small, love how this small skims.

so you have a small on a ~130g and you feel it's enough? how are the noise level with your skimmer?

Yes, it could handle more if it had to. As far as noise level I'm not the one to ask because my canopy fans and overflow are so loud I can't hear the skimmer but I would say it is very quiet.
 
I was thinking of ordering a medium but I am concerned about the Sicce pump. Has anyone had problems with re-start issues or noise with these pumps? I am always concerned about going away and coming back and the pump is burnt up from not starting, and I want a quiet pump.
 
Sicce pumps are very quiet and they only have restart issues if they are poorly mesh-modded. The pinwheel has no start-up issues at all. I have one on my MSX 160 and have no probs.

SHO...which particular Petorama did you call to discuss your pump purchase? I purchased my DAS AB on Monday from them (online) and only received the immediate confirmation that I placed the order. I have not received any tracking info and the women that I spoke with at the Dallas store said she'd get back with me and has not. My Small will be delivered today and I will not be able to set it up over the weekend :mad:

Ya, I got the confirmation email, and some tracking number (not UPS). I tried to look on their website using the numbers they provided and it didnt even register I had placed an order.

I called some stores and eventually got in touch with someone who said they I would receive an email that day. I did, and they said sorry for the delay.

Stinks that this doesnt sound like a one time ordeal. Looks like for some reason you guys are going through what I did. OH and I started to get concerned FIVE DAYS after I placed my order, so they had plenty of time to do something on their own.
 
you guys can also contact chris at nuocean for a AB pumps...from what i see...its in stock..and hes in nyc...plus his customer service is way better than the non-existent petorama

It's about as far from secretive as you can get, short of the MFG comming out and spamming their stuff in the forum, which would be a violation of the RC TOS. Read the email address for the mfg has been posted multiple times throughout the thread. If you email John, he'll get back to you with detailed information and pricing.

Secretive? Are you kidding me? GEE WHIZ... Just read the thread. Contact info posted in numerous locations.
 
I received a needle wheel up grade from I-Tech , for my Beast ( The I-Tech XL ) . The thing is pulling in even more air now . I can hardly believe this thing . With the original needle wheel The Dwyer air flow meter was reading 80 , now look at what it's pulling .

I have to get a watt meter this week , to see how many watts the motor is pulling .

I know from before , the air flow meter does restrict the air flow some , because when we put the air flow meter on the intake the watts went up some . I want to see if there is a difference now .
