AquaBee 2000/1

I was going to buy the 100 model from john but I have changed to the 200 so I have a brand new in box AquaBee 2000/1 for sale with a venturi I made that slip's on and works great,I put it in water to test.I will sell for $85 shipped or trade for a sicce pk2500 with pin wheel.Willie

You could try modifying the pinwheel itself as a handicapping method instead of restricting the in/out of the pump. My guess is that if you shortened the pin length by half, you'd get around half the water and air.

What size skimmer and which pump?
It's the 300 (large) with the Laguna / Askoll 1500 pump.

Anyone know how one of these skimmers like an I-tech medium might compare to an MSX 200? I know the body styles are different, but don't know much about skimmers. Looking into getting a new one; will be for a 75g with 55g sump

I think both would be overkill

I'm going to be running a small on my 75g.

The January TOTM was noted for having an ITech small on their 75gal tank. You can't argue with that!

Only thing is i feed heavy, so even with heavy feeding the i-tech small would be enough?
I just figured, if it was good enough to make a Reef Central Tank of the Month.... It would be good enough for me :)

At least at this point, I couldn't ever blame the skimmer for being the reason I can't make my tank TOTM worthy ;)

Emsters tank consists of a 90 display, a 40 gal frag tank, and am not sure how much his sump is holding. But if my figures are right his system is right around the same volume as yours. An he is running the small. I would say you should be able to go with the small. But hey everyone likes to be different. :)

I have an Octo X 200 on my 75g with 20g fuge and 20g sump. It has been a solid performer for the past 3-4 months. I have 10 fish, 4 shrimp, snails, crabs (haha), and lotsa softies, and I feed heavy. I run the MW currently at 45scfh, 30watts, no start up issues. Skimmer is very quiet, only thing I hear is the water exiting the skimmer. Hope is helps.

I am in the club. I got my small yesterday. The build quality is professionally done and the price cannot be beat. I have a feeling that John is going to take business away from many other skimmer lines due to his customer service. I only got the body but will get the pump next month and he has told me he would modify it for me. How cool is that?
I have been looking at getting a new skimmer for over a year and I am glad I waited for this one.
It will be on a 95 gallon with a 55 gallon sump so I believe it will be a perfect fit.

I can't comment on performance between the i-tech medium and msx/octo extreme 200 because I've had neither. However, prior to ordering my i-tech 100, I had an Octo Extreme 160. While the octo was put together just fine, the i-tech is a whole other level of beefiness and quality. Air welded seams and heavier gauge materials used throughout. Plus the plumbing is done in SAE sizes so should you need to modify or adapt parts (I can't really see a reason for this) you can get stuff that fits locally.

Then there is the customer service. While the retailers that sell MSX or Octo Extremes may offer good service, you're still dealing with a middle-man. With the i-tech, you deal directly with the manufacturer, and John's service is top notch.

Ok, I got some requsts for some info to go with the pic. I have about 400 gallons of SPS, Zoanthids, and fish...large Vlamingi, large Naso, large Thompsons, med Purple, large Copperband, 2 Genicanthus, Royal Gramma, 2 Clowns, 2 Yellow Wrasses, 3 Chromis, 12 Anthias...I think that's all. I have an automatic feeder that feeds small pellets and cyclopeze 4 times per day. I feed flakes and large pellets once per day, 1 sheet of roasted seaweed per day, and 3 cubes of mysis per day. The pic is 2 days of slightly wet skimmate.

Are there any adverse affects w/ the metal screws in the bottom of the skimmer. I'm assuming stainless, but can they break down over time in saltwater?

I THINK they are titanium.. Either that or they are stainless.
