thanks for the input moondoggy4 . I will send an email to the retailer for further info on the 200. thanks

From what I was told, the model number is the approximate rating for the skimmer.

Here is a link to their forum:

I'm on the list for a 200, but am waiting for the results on the Tunze pump

OBTW - I sent an e-mail in last week, I got a reply in less than an hour!!

Just a little update,

My 100 is rocking hard. It's been up for a little while now and I can say the pump is probably broken in properlyl based upon the bubble diameter in the neck. The skimate production is nice, but what really caught me off guard was the smell. My Octo Extreme would pull a similar amount of skimate, but the stench was nowhere near as bad as what I've gotten out of the 100. All other input parameters as far as foods, additives etc. are the same, so unless my fish have been slipping out for Mexican food, the 100 is pulling stankier funk.

I still need to get the reducer dialed in for the Aquabee though. I'm getting microbubbles, and have to run a little bit of a balancing act between low water height, and not pushing the bubbles too far down below the plate making the microbubble problem worse.

So again, if any of the Aquabee users have the I.D. of their reducer handy, along with the I.D. of the air fitting, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

I guess it might be a bit early for ths but if the Tunze works out for the 100, which pump will end up being the pump of choice for the 100?, the Aquabee or the Tunze?., it will be interesting to see if one outperforms the other by a decent margin.

If the results from both pumps are fairly close ., then one could look at the cost difference, warranty, etc., between the both and decide from there which one would be best for them.

Anyhow, the more choice we have , the better.

I honestly wouldn't think twice about the Tunze pump over the aquabee...

Having both John and Roger as contacts for issues regarding this skimmer will equal the best customer service I will ever experience in my lifetime. I'm not even exaggerating. I can't say enough about either. Getting service for the Aquebee has been nothing but a hassle. Petorama has been a pretty big let-down.

Just a quick update on my small cone skimmer with the aquabee pump. I have been running it for around 4 weeks now, and I have it dialed in and running about perfect. I am averaging about 2-3" of skimmate every 3 days. I agree with Flat Broke this skimmer pulls some really funky smelling skimmate. I had an old Euro Reef before and the skimmate would smell but nothing like what the I-tech skimmate smells like.

I am real happy with the Aquabee pump it is quiet and restarts every time I unplug it to clean the skimmer cup out. It seems like a lot of people are waiting on the Tunze pump but I would not let it be a deal breaker, this skimmer is to good to pass up...

The tunze is a sicce pump, if the 100 can't handle a sicce it won't handle the tunze pump. JMO

Yes they come out of the same factory but the tunze is not the same pump as the sicce. They have different propellers, etc.

Check this out.

Looks like its handling it pretty well to me.

People with the 100. Is there anyway you guys could take some pictures of the entire skimmer ( bottom, neck and all )

Or if someone has one set up without the pump that would be even better!

I asked Roger about this, and he told me that new version of the Hydrofoamer is not a Sicce pump, it is all Tunze. The first version was a modified Sicce pump.

I'm wanting to hear how the larger Tunze Hydrofoamer performs on the I-Tech 200. I think it's going to be paired with the Tunze 9420.04 Hydrofoamer. I don't think that hydrofoamer is out yet. I believe the I-Tech 100 is paired with the smaller Tunze 9410.04.

If I was waiting for this skimmer and had to buy my own pump , I would wait for the Tunze . It 's really kind of hard to give up your money and not get the latest and greatest of said product of anything .
I had my own pump so getting just the body was a no-brainer for me .
As far as the wait time . It's no different than trying to get another brand as far as cones are concerned .
One thing hard to beat is the customer service John provides .

It might have different impellars all sicce skimmer pumps do, I have 3 different pinwheels for them. sicce makes them for tunze same motor block as the tunze/sicce silence pumps.
All I'm saying is a siccce psk 2500 with coralvue pinwheel should be fine on the 100 if the hydrofoamer works.
