OMG!

Those fish are incredible! I sure hope you plan on breeding them. It would be a shame for that bloodline to die with those fish. :inlove:

One of my LFS's has (( or had, haven't been there in about a month )) a pair very very similar to those -- if only I had another tank.

I am not saying they are not beautiful, but these are standard color morph coming out of Sri Lanka. However it seems US wholesaler does not import alot from that region. Same speaks for the TRUE sebae species.

there is nothing rare about these black clarkii.
I gave mine away because it is a mean fish caused many damages in my reef. It killed several other fish too.

yeah my spawning pair is causing sand storm every few hours, they even up-rooted a few LTA and carpet.

There's also another morph of black clarkii that does not have the yellow at all, that morph typically comes from Indonesia / Vietnam area.

I will agree, there is nothing rare about melanistic clarkii's. I've had one for years that has very similar markings. However, all fish are not created equal. Just like people, there are some straight up homely ones, some average ones, and a very select few that are simply gorgeous. The fish pictured above fall into the simply gorgeous category, IMHO.

Here's mine. I think she is a beautiful fish, but I don't believe she holds a candle to the ones pictured above.

Maybe I'm a little overly critical when it comes to judging clown fish???? Compare the yellow/orange color of my fish to the ones posted by Visiontech. My fish is more yellow, and his is more tangerine. Look at the first bar of my clown in the picture that fallows. The line is almost straight from the eyes to the dorsal fin, and there's an abrupt angle right at the peek. This line should be more rounded like you see in Visiontech's fish. Even all the way down the side of Visiontech's fish, just below the dorsal, there is a huge muscle, giving the fish a healthy rounded look. My fish lacks the muscle tissue that Visiontech's fish has. Maybe my fish is genetically programed to be a little on the skinny side???? Maybe, some time in its past, it suffered a little malnutrition???? I don't think my fish should be culled or anything. I honestly think she's a beautiful fish. I just don't think she, and most fish of her kind, are in the same league with Visiontech's fish. BTW, don't look at the haddoni. The pic was taken about two weeks after his MH when out. He was a little bleached and not real happy at the time.
