IceCap 3K Gyre Generation Flow Pump

I still love mine! I think I was one of the first on here to purchase one of these. I've had it for just over 3 months now and my tank inhabitants and myself are very happy. I've only had to take it apart one for cleaning so far. Its probably due again and perhaps today I will do that. Its still very silent and I have not had a single problem with it.

Well worth the money IMO!

Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear it's going well.

Any more comments about this unit? I was thinking about getting the Maxspect XF750 but this may be a cheaper way to see how I like the gyre concept. This would be on a 100g DT.

Im still mostly happy. I was having some noise. So i ordered some bushing. Swapped those out and still had some noise.

Found out it was mostly operator error. I didnt push the piece back in the housing all the way when I cleaned it last time. Pushed it in and its quiet.

Also found out if you get some noise, check for air in the propellers. I use my turkey baster and blow water in it. Stops the noise. Again this was user error. I had it a little to close to the top and it was causing a vortex to form and suck air in.

How are theese compared to the Maxspect GYRE?

Noisewise atleast, I have a xf250 and got some buzzing/humming when the motor ramps up and down.

mine is basically silent now. It was rather loud for the first couple weeks or so. Once it broke in it was fine. And as I said in previous post, if they get air trapped in the propellers they will make noise. I run mine 50% or less. usually 30%. But its silent through that range at least. I cant hear it run unless something is wrong.

Nothing on my system makes much noise. I hear my cooling fan on the Ethereal lights over everything when they kick on. And they arent very loud at all.

Are some modes quieter than others? I would assume that gradual pulse would be more quiet than pulse and constant would be more quiet than gradual pulse.

Quick question.
I have 120 with dual overflows, I wanted to add one in between the overflows.
Would this even work?, Can flow be redirected?
