IceCap 3K Gyre Generation Flow Pump

Just use Chemiclean. I've used it twice in all the years I've been in this hobby and it has worked great and for a long time.

Do I have to turn off my Skimmer when using chemiclean? I have an HOB Skimmer and real hardwood floors and I do not want to mess up the floors.

I have this Icecap 3K Gyre in my 90 and I get no sand movement at all. Reverse mode does nothing and forward at 70% moves water but the sand does not move at all. Does anyone have a video of this thing in a 4 foot long tank moving the sand??

Anyone have suggestions on setting the programs? I would like a pulse or random 16 hours a day and then at night nice and mellow. Haven't gotten it yet but I am hearing that it's difficult to program.

quick video I took the other day, standard 90 gallon, icecap was in alternating gyre mode 70% fwd/100% reverse.

sand bed is tropic eden grand select and reef flakes, so very large sand compared to most

took me all of 5 minutes to program it, only thing I had to look at the instruction booklet for is the icons of the modes, super easy and very intuitive to use. I have mine setup up to change flow roughly every 2 hours, I run low flow 20% pulse after lights out, and ramp it up to 80% pulse 0.6 sec, alternating gyre mode, etc.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6IqmUi5BlU this was 70-80% pulse between .4-.8

Anyone know why these are out-of-stock just about everywhere? Just wondering if they're making some adjustments to improve the product?

I think for the price Supply doesn't keep up with demand. My 2 MP40wes are much noisier than the 3K Gyre btw.

Hey guys, pretty new around here but I have been following this thread. BRS has them in stock again. Went ahead and purchased one and couldn't be happier. I have a 32 led bio cube. With my coral placement and types..frogsspawn, hammer, and torch..i found that, for me, best placement was left corner mounted vertically on the back wall. Although, I can't really run it over thirty or stuff kicks up..lol. However, I also purchased this pump with the forethought of upgrading to a bigger tank. Love it in the cube. All the modes are very cool and serve their own purposes. Been up for about a day and it's great. There is a little noise but it is not "bad" by any means. Although that subject is completely subjective..All in all, great pump for the money. My reverse gyre mode seems to be working well. It blew stuff I never even knew existed from behind my rocks..haha..

do you have any photos of your set up? Curious how it is positioned running vertically
Sorry for the pic..day lights are out, blue only, but you can get the idea..works great for my tank. I am working the next few days, but I will get a better pic posted when the day lights are on and I am home.20170407_212716.jpg

Hmmm...for some reason the picture spun left. The pump is vertical on the back left side. Left enough room for my glass cleaner to get by

Sorry if this has been mentioned... but how is the cleaning on these? I had the first gen gyre and it was ridiculous to break down and clean... Hopefully this one is better
