I see a car change!!!
What's new down there? I haven't seen you in forever. What's going on this summer?

I just went through all 17 pages, you are going to have a great tank. I cant wait to see if up and running.

All that sand you bought. Do you have any left over you would be willing to sell. If so I would like to buy some and check out your tank in person. Im amazed with it.

I sold about 2400 lbs of sand before I picked it up. The rest is for my tank. Thanks for the kind comments. I'm slowly getting back up to speed.
Today and tomorrow, I'm enjoying the Southeastern Reef Conference in Orlando. Had some great conversation with Sanjay Joshi and Richard Harker this evening. Looking forward to the presentations tomorrow.

Thanks again for letting me come check out your tank. It will be beautiful with that fish list you have going.

Nice meeting you

Mike

haha yeah i bought a 71 ford maverick a couple months ago and thats where most of my money is going right now.. my tank is doing pretty good and im really happy with it thus far.. ive gotten alot of my freinds into it since i sold my tank to you. im actually just about to frag off some frogspawn to a freind and hes buying my tangs because they are passing the stage where i feel comfortable with them in the tank, they arent aggressive but i always try to keep fish that have adequate swimming space.. he has a 120 so they should be good for a while..

anyway i did finally get sps to do good i have montipora, milipora, and a birdnest all doing fairly well, it seemed that i just needed to raise my alkalinity a little bit..

Hey Joe,
I'm out of town this weekend...wedding anniversary. I've felt pretty rough this week, so no work done. Maybe next Wednesday or Thursday. I'll call.

Hey Mike I hope you are staring to recover. Don't rush take it slow. I have finally ordered my tank from glass cages. I just read through your entire thread again. Excellent work and craftsmanship. Like your f250. Got Boost>>> I am going your route with the reflectors. I have a question about the 250w. I like the color a little more white then blue my tank is only 96x30x25 and was wondering how your light will look on your tank. I love your light rack. I have been going back and forth with 250w or 400w. I started my build and had to leave for work. I live in Palmbay and a member of the ORCA. What is the club you guys have out your way? I look forward to seeing this setup..

Eric, our club is Tampa Bay Reef Club. I'm familiar with ORCA. I know Matt and Mel, great folks. I went to SRC in Orlando.
I'm going to use Aquaconnect 14K bulbs with 250 watt IceCap MH electronic ballasts. John at FAOIS says these bulbs are very bright and mostly white with a very light blue tint. If you want less blue, try Ushio or XM 10K bulbs. I would use 250 watt on your tank unless you just want 400 watt.

Wow your build is amazing. You have a lot of talent and patience. I am looking forward to when you start adding water. Thanks for sharing.

Adam,
I'm thiking about getting all my needed supplies together and getting some folks to come over and finish the build.

That sounds like a great plan. I can't promise anything but if possible I might be able to help as well. Just let me know the date. Not sure how far Seffner is from palmbay, I will google it

I've looked through this thread to find the source for the luminarc III style reflector DIY pattern. Can't find it. Does anyone know where that can be aquired. Thanks

Can't believe I just found this thread. Amazing work thus far, you have tremendous DIY skills. I'll be following with interest and can't wait to see water in that beast.
