I've looked through this thread to find the source for the luminarc III style reflector DIY pattern. Can't find it. Does anyone know where that can be aquired. Thanks
PM sent.

I've been working on the tank system for 30 minutes to an hour each day for the past month, more time when I felt good, and less time when the pain was bad. I'll try to get some pics this weekend.

Sand (about 1000 pounds) and rock (about 400 pounds) party this Saturday 8/25/07, 6pm. Food and drink provided.

lolll i would kill to come to that party but im in Canada :sad1:sad2:

Try to get some pics real soon man lol i cant wait to see the improvement. Try earlier than the weeked please :bounce1: Thanks brother.

I'm going to use Aquaconnect 14K bulbs with 250 watt IceCap MH electronic ballasts. John at FAOIS says these bulbs are very bright and mostly white with a very light blue tint. If you want less blue, try Ushio or XM 10K bulbs. I would use 250 watt on your tank unless you just want 400 watt.

Hey Mike looks like your getting really close! About the bulbs, your talking about the SE's right? I was over at Emmits (Emster) place a few weeks ago and the color his corals was outstanding! I couldn't get over it. I'm pretty sure he was supplementing with VHO's as well. If you havent seen his tank its worth the trip. I was stunned. Of course there's a little more to it than that but still. My next tank (whenever that is) will have SE 14K bulbs as well. I think this is a common denominator in a lot of people's tanks with insane colors.

I can't wait to see your setup.

Take care,
Chris

A great gang of reefer freinds came over on Saturday evening for some pizza and beverages, and when they left, my tank had sand and rock in it. WOW!!! FREINDS ARE FABULOUS!!!

Foam fractionator in action. I had to turn it all the way down.

Manifold for reactors and water change supply for QT tank.

Three pipes going through the wall: 1.) freshwater supply for topoff, 2.) saltwater supply for water changes, 3.) drain for water changes.

on the manifold, do you know that you will get much more flow from the one on the end, decreasing to the beginning one?

the valves will help solve any flow problems he may have with the manifold.

The amount of water that will run through the reactors will be minimal compared to the supply, so the difference from front to back will have no affect.

Mike I am glad to see that you are feeling better and are making progress. If you need help, let me know because the weekend of Sept. 8th I am good to do whatever grunt work you may need. Just send me a PM if you need my help.

Besides that the tank looks awesome!

Thanks Chris, it's all light work for the near future. When I start the woodwork, I'll definitely yell your name!!!

Looks great Mike - now it's time for those little fish to have some swimming room! Love the manifold and that's just what I have planned for all my media! Keep the photos coming!

Thanks Carol. Someday when you're on this side of Tampa, I would like you to look at my system and do one of those cool "engineering looking drawings" of all my stuff!

I got the light rack mounted on the slides, all the sand from the 50 QT moved into the 390, the 5 Chromis moved to the 390, and the rock and Cheato from the QT to the refugium.

I also picked up a Acanthurus Vlamingi today from Fish And Other Ichthy Stuff (FAOIS) today. He's now in the 50 QT and eating like a horse. I'll get a closer picture after a couple days when he's a little more acclimated.

I am setting up a 42 bowfront (Thanks Laz!) for another QT for some fish donations coming from poknsnok (Thanks Joe), so I'll be busy with that this next week. Then I have to tile my gameroom floor, since I messed up some carpet with a 50 gallon flood (long story). The short version is don't answer the doorbell while you're tuning your skimmer. I have a trip to Peru and a trip to Louisiana in November. I may get started on the wood in January. Who knows.
