Look at the skirts along these PD (upper left). They appear as though they are being eaten. The only thing I see in & around this is a LARGE amphipod or something similiar. COuld they eat these?? I don't see any of the usual suspect. ie: spiders, sundial, Nudis etc...

I don't see any asterinas near or on the zoas. I used to have thousands til I temporarily put in a harlequin. Every now or then I see 1 or 2. I dipped again last night. Last week I dipped in Revive, last night with FW 3-4 minute dip.
Originally posted by dalston I had the large amphipods and my proto's went untouched, they seemed to prefer large zoanthids. Do you see any asternias hanging around them?
the stars are tricky, you can think they're all gone then boom you'll see one on your polyps that are not looking good. I just saw one the other day on my tubs that started to look like crap.
I noticed some of my zoas look just like yours and I found two nudis in my tank soon after I introduced a new colony (didn't dip - doh!). Anyway, I got lucky to find two adults and two egg sacks that I removed...sucked adults up with a turkey baster, removed eggs sacks with a paper towel. I didn't dip anything, but it's been two weeks and the zaos skirts are growing back and all of the colonies are nice and open again...let's hope I got em all.
nanogeo same thing happened to me after putting new zoas did a quick f/w did to quick. next day nudis were crawling up the back of my tank. to about a week but i think i got them all about 6 or 7 total.
