Is the honeymoon over

I have a pair of Maroon Clowns that were getting along fine swimming and sleeping together. I added a BTA last week now the male (smaller 3/4") has been chased off and banished to the corner of the tank by my female (2") who hosts in the BTA. Will she accept him again or is the honeymoon over?

Give it some time and she should let him back in. It took my female tomato clown almost 3 months before she let her mate in my anemone when I got it.

This is what worked for me:

Get one of those small in-tank breeder cages, put the female in "jail" for a day or two while the little man lounges in the anemone. Make sure the female is somewhere she can see what's going on and realize he's not a threat to the anemone. When you let her back out, she'll probably be cool with him.

Typical event. Let the female dominate for awhile, let the "assumed Male" submit, should sort itself out within a few weeks.

Be prepared for such events when new homes are added, the pair is moved to a new tank, etc.

I would only remove an established juvenile/male if they are getting severely injured.

Wait it out if possible. The dominace should settle down over time.

Thanks everyone so far she has not tried to hurt the male no real damage done. The male is just keeping his distance for now.
