Is this light too good to be true?

I allready posted this in the lighting forum but wouldn't mind some more opinions. Looks like a good deal to me but I'm still not sure.
I'm thinking about this lighting fixture but it seems too good to be true. It's the 48'' Metal Halide fixture from Aquatraders.com.
It comes with 2 250 watt HQI bulbs, 4 compact flourescent 65 watt actinic blue bulbs, 6 blue moon led lights and all the external ballasts plus free shipping for $359.00. This seems like it is too cheep to be of good quality. A similar lighting fixture from liveaquaria.com is 659 bucks. Does anybody have any experience with this light fixture. Seems crazy to spend that kind of money on a light when it is almost half that price on aquatraders?
Here's the website http://www.aquatraders.com/index.as...PROD&ProdID=333
Somebody please check it out and tell me what you think before I compulsively buy this thing!

Ive heard these are prone to catch on fire, but i also know someone who runs 4 or 5 of them. I would be a little leary myself.

They do not catch on fire, there is a huge like 90 page thread in the equipment thread, talking about how to mod these to be amazing fixtures, check it out you got a lot of reading to do. But the basic thing that I remember reading is that you need new ballasts to output true 250 watts. Read the massive thread in the equipment thread.

I would own one of those lights. It just would not fit my bowfront properly. I think they had some issues with the old style ballast they were running. But My understanding is that those issues are history with the newer electronic ballast.

I don't think the old ones had electronic ballast, So If it is being sold with an electronic ballast then I would think you are in good shape.

i have the 24" model. great light. switch out the ballast and the bulb and you have a fixture just as good as any other higher priced ones, but still costs less. i havent moded mine, been doin great for me since dec.
