There are actually 3 ph`s in the tank, I have 1 hidden in the rockwork, towards the middle of the tank. I have it plugged in along with the ph on the right side, to the timer that controls the right MH. The left ph is plugged into the same timer that contols the left MH. I stagger my MH using a 30 min interval between the two.
The white pvc you see is the return, powered by a mag9.5 running 24/7.
I plugged everything in this way to give a little more random flow, since I have no wavemaker and the tank is somewhat calm at night with only the return pump running. I calculated the flow gph using the one here on rc.
Total losses are 8.27 feet of head pressure, or 3.57 PSI. with a flow rate of 554 GPH. I can run the pump flat out without throttling it back any. AGA rates the megaflow for 600gph. So I think I am pretty close there.
I still have a swqd from the 55 that I flushed out yesterday and it is flowing nicely again just using the garden hose. I know I loose a lot of flow using one, but could adapt it into the current plumping easily enough. At least until I decide whether to go with the OM or something else. May not be worth the hassle of doing it tho.

If I do go with the ss I was going to use the grey pvc, with locline. One question I have is should I just run the closed loop pump out of the sump and have some head pressure, or drill a hole in the overflow section.
Also what size pump would I need to get that 1400gph on the ss?
