its been a fun ride guys...

That must have been hell, Tim!

Glad the family is now safe from that mold. I can't imagine what you've been through, but maybe give it a few weeks before you decide to hang up the clippers.

I do hope this thread isn't your reefing swan song...but rest up pal. Especially that ankle. I'll be back on the court next month!

You did the right thing. The tank is nothing compared to your families health. Still, it is depressing to see those pics.:( I am deeply sorry, Tim. If you ever need anything, just let me know and it is yours.

Tim,

So sad reading this post. I am speechless. However, I am sure we can recover many corals that you have from the people here and in Bay Area. Hang in there. Call me when you feel like to.

Man, that is truly sad. All that life and all that work was truly beautiful.

Sorry to see it all go, and I hope that you don't pack it in over this. I hope you decide to rebuild so we can all see more great photos like the ones at the top of this thread.

Best of luck.

Wow! These things are not suppose to happen to such a humble man! Tim, it goes without saying that our hearts go out to you. You have been and will continue to be an inspiriation in the reefing community. It's a blessing that your family is safe from the mold danger. Hope you take Mark up on his offer and stay in the hobby. If there is anything that I can help out, please don't hesitate!

God Bless you Tim!

Tim, I've had the opportunity to view your tank once, and interact with you just a handful of times, but you have been generous and kind to myself and MARS. I am sorry for your loss and echo the sentiments of others who wrote before me, "anything I can do, just ask."

I wish you the best in whatever path you decide to pursue.

Tim,
You could not have said it better: Go with what works for you.

Sorry about the loss you recently went through and I hope your familys health is 100%. You might have lost some saltwater livestock but one thing is for sure you did not loose your experience or knowledge. I'm sure when you decide to set up another tank it will be just as nice or even better.

good luck

I have known about this for all most a week and still sad. Anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing Tim and going to his house know how generous he is.

Tim if you do decide to stick around you can have a frag of anything in my tank..............not as beautiful as yours but a start. Look forward to talking to you later.

Rob

Ughh...as a victim of total wipeout myself I know how depressing and discouraging this is.

Tim, don't bail. If you need frags/small colonies I'll gladly give you some to contribute to your new start.

Let me know.

I saw this post and thought it was a nightmare. I am going to stick with nano's since I know that if I ever lose so much corals, I'd probably cry like a baby. Good luck with everything.

Dude...dude...DUDE!! I am so freakin stunned I cant even put it into words. Woooow. <Shakes head>.

Ok...I'm over the grief part. How can we make something positive out of this? I know this much...Tim you are a freakin pillar of the local reefing community. If you want to come back...we will all rally. You can build it again...maybe even better. You may not ever get some of those rarer pieces back, but think about all of the new stuff you can do! Dont think of this as a loss but a chance to do it better.

Dont give up dude. There's a lot of support out here for you. Probably even in places you didnt know about. We got your back! When do we start?

-Joel

Tim,
I'm sorry that you had to add this to your already overwhelming list of challenges lately. You've helped me out numerous times, and if I can ever be of any help, you've only to ask. Now, the question you have to ask, is will you be satisfied with a FOWLR? You tried that once before, and look what you ended up with....
Keep your head up. As I've learned over the past 18 months.....a few too many times.....what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger! And, even I'll have to admit, I AM STUBBORN!
Best wishes for you and the family.

Jeremy

Tim I'm very sorry to hear this your tank has always been an inspriation to me if you need any help or anything lemme know also I'm willing to babysite corals

So sorry to hear about all the problems you have had lately. Take some time and think about what you want to/don't want to do in the future. If you decide to stay in the hobby you know we will all do what ever we can to get you back where you want to be. I am sure you will put your family first in what ever decision you make.

God Bless
