I looked high and low for egg-lights too, and then I remembered that I purchased the same things for a Koi Pond that I built. You can find them in the Pond or Garden section of most hardware stores, such as Lowes.

They usually come in sets of three and have a tiny power transformer that comes with them (about the size of a deck of cards). They use like only 10-20 watts, but do get mildly warm.

They also include colored lens in some sets, though I would not recommend using the lens.

Anyway, the lights are completely submersible and actually last quite long from my experience.

I'm guessing these were the same type used in this application, because I was not able to find others specific to aquatic use.

Yes, I got mine at Lowes. I did get the one single egg - light though. They had both one light or three. It was around $30.

I bought that halogen light today. I tested it and it sure does put out a lot of heat. Any problems Mary with that little bit of extra heat in your tank? For only being 10 watts it gets quite warm

I have been leaving the egg-light on 24/7 but may end up putting it on a timer too. I keep mine down into the water.

My temps at night gets down to 79 to 80 and during the day with the lights on 83 to 84. I am not using my heater any more.

Tonight I changed out the stock pump that came with the nano to the maxijet 1200. I have been reading on here that it is suppose to help. So I will see what happens after tonight.

I found my Jaw fish tonight Yea It was in the back of the tank where my pumps are. While I was changing out my pump I found it. I got the net down in there and he jumped back into the tank. I had some gutter guard that I had bought for the 85 so I decided to cut a piece to lay over the back chambers and I think that will keep any fish from getting into the back.

I didn't see it after he went into the rocks but hopefully he will be OK. I tried to squirt Mysis shrimp down into the area that he went to. I know he hasn't ate much in the area that he was in around the pumps. It's a wonder he wasn't sucked up by the pump intake.

I am just hoping he will come out where I can see him

I used the 1/2" size, so my list of parts was this:

...you will need to drill a 1 1/8" hole for the bulkhead. For this I just used a a boring bit.

Bulkhead fitting, Double Threaded (1/2")

MPT x 90Ã"šÃ‚° Elbow Insert (1/2" x 1/2")

Here are a couple of pics where I used gutter guard that I got at Lowe's. It comes in a roll. Easy to cut.

I wanted to do this to keep the fish from jumping into the back chambers. My Jaw fish was back there and I got him out and I don't want it to happen again.

Great Idea, my Eel goes in the back of mine everynow and then, but just comes right back out since there is nothing really there for him.
