JBNY's 270 Ver2.0

Sorry to hear of your losses Joe, but the new scape looks fantastic and I'm sure it will be fantastic in the long run! I'm just setting up a new tank myself after being out for a while!

Joe,
Great video update with the fish, wow it looks so real, all the fish swimming and interacting on the reef mimics nature. Well done, corals are also looking great too. Glad to see the success you are having! Cheers :)

Thanks Perry. I keep dumping fish in the tank, but I am still dosing just a little bit of Nitrates.

Hey Bill, Awesome to here from you!! hope you have been ok. Get the tank up, the world of reefing has changed so much over the last few years!

Hey Joe, I've noticed! I'm still trying to get my head around some of the new concepts and products out there. Lot's of reading to do... I'll start a tank build thread soon, but I just got the new tank delivered yesterday. I went with a Red Sea Reefer 350 so it's a little smaller than my old systems. It's a beautiful tank though! Can't wait to get it wet!

Some shots from today.

This is a wild coral that I thought was dead and decided to wake up a month or two ago. I'm really excited about this one, it's starting to get crazy colors, green, yellow, red, and blue.

Thanks a nice tank. It's great to see you getting back into the game! I'm still doing things the old way and slowly changing stuff over when I think it makes sense.

That wild one and the blue Vermiculata.....wow:inlove:

I like the pink Bali shortcake. Those softer types of colors are more what I'm looking for at the moment. Really like that one.
Corals all look great. Thanks for the pics

Awesome tank.

How do you like your Gyre? Have you had any problems with them at all. I have 2 vortechs in a shallow tank, but think of trying a single Gyre to see how they work in a shallow tank

Great pics Joe, tank is looking fantastic. Keep us updated on that super blue, it's one of the many UC corals I ended up killing. If it grows well I'd like to try it again but so far I've failed to find any large colony pictures of it.

Joe, those latest photos are amazing. The growth is fantastic.
What a turnaround.
You must be getting giddy, when you look at the tank, now
I'm anticipating a massive upswing in your coral population! :)

There are a few coral that are out with different names but all look about the same, they are cool coral for sure!

That wild one I'm pretty excited for. It's like the colors in Walt Disney but real. That blue vermiculata is really a nice piece too, really, really blue.

Absolutely stunning colours.

Thanks Kevin!

That fire polyp looks amazing!

The Fire Polyp is really cool, It is finally starting to table out and take shape. Color wise it is pretty unique and I don't know if I have seen this coloration in any other acroporids.

Thanks, I like this one a lot too. Really interested to see what it will look like when it gets bigger, right now it has great coloration though.

I have two of them, and I like them more than any other power heads I have used. My vortech now sits in the frag tank and now II am thinking of getting another gyre to replace the vortech. I think the flow I would be able to get using the gyre in the frag tank over the Vortech would be significant.

Will do Mark. so far the super blue has been quick to encrust so I'm hopefull it will do well in my tank.

Joe the Pikachu is one amazing looking SPS

Corals looking great!!

Flo

Thanks Flo, the Pikachu is the most yellow I have seen in an acroprora, it really stands out in the tank.

Thanks! I am very happy with the turnaround, unfortunately the tank has some nasty cyano at the moment which is bummer. I feel that this hobby is never able to fully just let us be happy, it seems that once one thing turns around something else seems to take a down turn always giving us something to be unsatisfied about.

Best pikachu ive seen to date! Which vendor is that from? Mine is ugly green with brown polyps..

Hi Joe, I also have a tiny frag of Fire Polyp but it has been sitting there doing nothing for almost 10 months. People say it is very finicky. Is yours a fast grower? Where do you place it in relationship of light and flow?

Joe, watching the video of your reef...

Do you have a pair of Flame Angels or a Trio?

Also, do you have an interruptus Angel in there? Or is it a freakishly huge flameback?
