Jebao Cross Flow Pump

no it won't. I think it says so in their website last I checked, which was a while back, imho, even jbwave is way overpriced, for what it can do. My current DIY controller as it is can do more.

Jebao Cross Flow Pump

Hahah true. I have been thinking about it! It just showed up Thursday so still playing with and haven't gotten to the hacking. I'll see what the scope says tomorrow (still learning how to use that thing)

I'm curious to see what different in it vs RW controller

Got this direct from Joe.

The JBWave does NOT work with the CP-40. Any of the WP/RW/PP stock controllers won't work either. The CP-40 uses the same connector, but the signals and power requirements are completely different.

In fact, plugging the CP-40 into a JBWave or any other RW/PP controller for more than a few seconds will likely damage the motor.

Regards,
Joe

Hey guys,

A friend of mind bought me a present CP-40 but there was no manual inside.
I've tried to contact fish-street but they are replying really slow with super weird questions - Like this is kind of treasure.

I wonder if someone please can send me scanned manual in English?

Cheers,
Charles.

Can you not do that with the stock controller? Do they not link like the RWs do?

Im not sure if they link or not. In my situation, I already have a maxspect, and want another, but am not willing to pay for it. So, I would like to keep my maxspect, and add a cp40. I want them to alternate.

Is this any good long term? I have a couple of RW8's for the last 15 months and they are noisy now. The rubber pegs that hold the 2 parts melted away so I am using zip ties to keep them together.

Wondering if I should spend double to get the Gyre or cheap this out :(

What do you consider long term? They haven't been out near long enough for me to consider any experience to be long term.

The maxspect gyres have had their issues too but maxspect has been quick to correct them and Coralvue has good support for them which Ive used a few times now and have gotten good responses from them.

Most of the maxspect gyre issues have been worked out now.

Cheap it out man.

They are probably made in the same facility as the gyre.

That's The downfalls of manufacturing in China.

Ben, with all due respect, they probably aren't made (made = assembled) in the same factory, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find out they both buy a lot of the parts that go into both pumps are bought from the same manufacturing companies. That's how China works. Dozens of companies can put together (assemble) pumps, and most of them go to the same companies to buy the various parts because none of them make their own, they just do assembly. Assembly is easy and cheap. Actually manufacturing parts is more expensive and therefore high volume production lowers the unit cost. So company A makes tons of small motors and both Maxspect and Jebao buy from Company A. Company B makes tons of plastic parts, so both Maxspect and Jebao buy from Company B. And the same for magnets, power cords, boxes, styrofoam packing...

It's the same thing that goes on with Chinese led fixtures. That's why so many look the same. And ones that look different tend to cost more because they have lower volume and the manufacturer charges more for low volume parts production.

In China, low wage employees are everywhere which is why they make stuff cheaper than we can here. But because low wage employees are everywhere there is little competitive advantage against an other Chinese company. So internally it's all about getting the volume up to make the unit cost go down.

Ordered a CP40 on Ebay. Let's see how it goes :)
Will be on my 93 Cube. Hope it's not too powerful for that size. Don't have any corals right now as I redid the tank some days ago. It's cycling.

That's kind of what I meant. The thing may not be assembled there, but Id bet 100 bucks that the molds that made the maxspect parts are also churning out the jeb's too.

I knew that was what you meant, I just wanted to make it perfectly clear.

Some people think everything from China is junk. But a some companies there now realize that they need better quality and better customer service if they are going to take over the world... I mean gain market share in the US and Europe!

Can't disagree with that.
