Brent and Ron I don't think you have a clue on what it takes to run a business. To bring a new product to a niche market you have R&D, promotional cost, admin costs, manufacturing costs, regulations, warranties, pricing agreements and on and on. Maybe Ron they can't reduce their cost to $125.00. Brent the most efficient manufacturing is always going to get the job.
There is a marketing rule, be careful to intodruce a new product, the second guy will copy you and win.
When some says that LFS mark items up to high, that is the most stupid statement of all! Do you know what it cost to run a LFS or for that matter any retail store and make it work?
Capitalism is great, if not for it this web site would exist because most of us could not afford a reef tank. If you don't like it you do not have to buy a product. With capitalism we are not standing in line hoping we can buy basic needs.
If you disagree with pricing then you are free not to buy it.
Sorry if this is useless but have you pulled it all apart, rinsed and scrubbed(vinegar to maybe), and put back together? Or is it purely a controller thing?OK, one of my Crossflow CP-40 drives just gave me the red light of death. Does anybody sell replacements?

You say you have other cross flows have you tried using other controllers and power supplies to make sure that it's not the power supply or controller and isolate it as the pump that's the problemNever useless from you Jason.
I took it apart and both sides spin free and easy. The motor spins free when I turn it by hand. This motor doesn't run on either controller (I have 2 Crossflows and a 3rd on order now) and the other Crossflow runs fine on either controller. I assume this motor is just dead? It's not frozen, it just won't run and gives the red light. But the bad motor is in a vinegar bath now! [emoji106]
To others who have had motor failures: Have the motor failures been frozen or did the motor still turn easily by hand?

could be a bad motor. try hooking it up to the controller with the cage and propeller removed and see if it spins up when you plug in power to the controller. It's ok to let it spin dry for a short period of time if it does spin. If it really does not spin or move, then you now have spare propeller and cage.
10/4 don't know how I missed that I was just asking I had a problem with one cp40 getting the red light within a week I was waiting for aquatic deal to come up with a solution for a month in the meantime I ordered a second pump from a different vendor due to my experience with aquatic deal and a pair of aqualink T1's anticipating the repair of the one pump so at least I have it on hand when I get it.Yes and yes. I kind of thought that was clear from my post. The dead drive does not run in the other system (controller/power supply) and the good motor runs fine with the dead drives controller and power supply. I've tried running it without the cages. Nothing. But the shaft spins freely by hand and the cages do as well.
I guess I'll just have spare cages, controller, power supply and magnetic base if I ever need them once the new CP-40 arrives. Anybody need spare parts?:wavehand:

For a little while until it dies :spin3:quick question, would the Jecod CP-40 Cross Flow be enough for a 90 gal tank as the only pump?
