I bet you they'll come up with a wifi version someday
Yeah I have some reservations about any brand gyre as they have more parts and therefore a higher probability of failure.Based on what I've been reading on RC, the Maxspect Gyre has serious reliability issues. Based on my experience with Jebao RW pumps, a Jebao Gyre would likely have a half-life of 15 minutes. But to each his own.

My experience with jebao WaveMakers have been pretty positive. Mores so after I discovered one of the main reasons for failure in them are the two little ceramic cylinders they use that easily seize up (one ceramic cylinder/ring on each end of the impeller). I simply throw those little ceramic rings away and cut a piece of regular airline tubing to the same length and use it in place of the ceramic things. Zero issues and no more seizing up![]()

Wow that does look way better my rw8's will slide around if i barely bump them when kleening the glass om gonna have to see if they sell the mount seperate[emoji16]Just saw this and it looks like Jebao has redesigned the RW series with a new mount. Now it's called the PP series. Guess Hydor can't complain anymore.

Actually looks beefier than the old version.
I don't really understand how the new mount works. What's the white ring?

perhaps a spacer? If they use strong enough magnets they can have the outside off of the glass slightly so you have less contact area for scratches and such.
But who knows for sure. I have not had any issues with the magnets but I cant wait till someone gets these in hand to explain the difference.
Thats a good size magnet lol thanks for the linkI use these guys on our WPs and RWs lol

Yup, I've done it on both versions (they use interchangeable impellers so they both have the same issue/fix).Wow. Have to look into that when he next one fails. Is the same true for RW series? Hope not, as I threw them out.

These are the little ceramic rings/cylinders that WILL eventually seize to the ends of the impeller. Simply cut a piece of airline tubing to the same length as these and replace them. While you might give up a tad bit of performance with airline tubing Vs the ceramic pieces the airline pieces don not fail in my experience (2 years now).Any images of the failed part and replacement?
