This is a jebao impeller (each end of it seats into one of the factory ceramic cylinders). I don't have a pic of mine or I'd post it with the airline tubing on it, but you should get the idea.
These are the little ceramic rings/cylinders that WILL eventually seize to the ends of the impeller. Simply cut a piece of airline tubing to the same length as these and replace them. While you might give up a tad bit of performance with airline tubing Vs the ceramic pieces the airline pieces don not fail in my experience (2 years now).

got pics? These are starting to pop up in Europe already, preorders at CP25 €110 euros and CP45 €150
Probably would work better, but I haven't tried it....Have you tried the more rigid polyethylene tubing like used for RO/DI? Maybe a bit better then regular vinyl airline tubing?
They are probably figuring out how to make sure it lasts no more than 9 months
Notice it says nothing about us buyers, only sellers in the US. So, I would imagine sites overseas (fish street) will carry it and US customers can buy and have it shipped internationally bypassing the US protected laws. And then there is this little gem.......

I get it. I would be highly po'ed my self. But I would also listen to the community and change accordingly. This isn't the first time coral vue has had to place a halt to copy cats. But it did cause them to revamp their pricing.

Maxspecs does not own any patents. These shady sites are making it all up
Which is what happened with coral vue and that bag of tools from Canada years back. Mr. Tool was ordered to pay I believe for importing knock off skimmers and selling in the US. Coral vue put the smack down legally and they were locked in it for about two three years. I'm pretty sure mr. Tool lost any way ? Either way mr. Tool bag was ultimately imprisoned for illegally importing live rock from fijji to the tune of three to four CONTAINERS full. He fled and was extredited back and sent to prison.
If memory serves that case was when reef octopus was still pat. Pending as well. And the tables turned when they got a paten ?
But I could be wrong there.
Point is its never a good idea to muck with folks who have a pat pending and aren't afraid to defend it.
