Jebao Cross Flow Pump

Guys,

which model of cross flow should i go for? I am having a 120 gallon 4x2x2 size tank.

Will CP25 will do the job or do i need CP40.My tank have mostly LPS and softies but i will add few sps later.

Thanks

Has anyone bought more than two and tried to switch places on two of the shovels so the reverse mode produces circulation? /Samuel

I have the 140 in my 120g and it pushes over some softies on the opposite side of the tank on the lowest setting. Maybe I need to add more rock to deflect the flow bouncing off the side but I think the smaller model would have worked. Looking forward to the wireless add on to be able to dial it down more.

So should I order CP25 as I will mostly keeps softies and Lps in the tank. My current WP40 and RW15 produces enough flow coz of that I can see few of my corals not that happy or should I get CP40 with wireless controller and tune it to lower setting I can do that with the CP25 also.

if you say you are happy with the flow of your current setup, just leave it as it is, unless you just want to have what others have. :)

the way I see it, if the reverse function does not really do anything, then there is really no point in replacing what you currently have with something that will do essentially the same thing.

I have learnt that the convential wave maker doesn't have uniform flow all over the tank. They will shoot the water in one direction only leaving plenty of dead spots within a tank whereas cross flow will provide uniform flow all around the tank. This is the main reason I am thinking to switch to Cross flow in place of wave makers

unless it can actually reverse the flow, then it shoots water in one direction only, no?
There will always be dead spots with rock work, overflow box, etc.
we (myself included) always rationalize why we need new stuff. father's day is coming up.

This might be a stupid question, but I can't find any app in AppStore to control the T1-wifi-box-thing.. Need some help. What is the name of the app?

I have 4 of them, but no water in the system jet. My plan is to have at least 2 of them on the direct-reverse mode and switch places on rotors so I can get real flow on both directions..

I LOVE that tank! ^^

Crossflow still going strong, maybe even too strong :) Bumped it down to the second flow setting from the 3rd...I'm afraid the flow was too much even in my 75.

Installed a CP40 on my 4' 120G mixed reef last night. It's dead silent and pushes a ton of water.

I have been running 2xRW8s controlled by Apex and an MP-40, but I found the MP-40 to be too loud for my liking.

For testing, I just have the CP40 at one end of the tank about 3" below the surface, but I don't think that I'll leave it there. I may try it out mounted vertically on the back of the tank behind the rock work.

I got the unit from AquaticDeal for $106 USD shipped. It took 9 days to arrive from China.

balsam,

How are you address the magnets on the overflow? Did you seal it? I assume by the picture the magnet that hold it in place are inside the overflow, no?

Small update, I have decided to add two CP40s to my 48x36x18 frag tank. I had one and it does alright, but I want a bigger spread.

Yup! I have placed the magnets inside the overflow, but I assumed they are sealed..? If I'm wrong about that I have to figure out a way to seal them [emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]

Haven't been thinking so much about that. I ordered 2 of the pumps with the wifi-box-thing (have forgot the name of the product).. mostly out of curiosity. If I find them useful I'll order 2 more..
