Did you have any problems receiving your package from this company first for some reason my package was refused and returned didn't even make it to the states

a repeat of an earlier question, but is anyone using these on a 1 inch thick tank wall? if so, how is it holding? thanks!

I put my CP-40 on a 15mm (5/8 in) glass side and thought that it was about the thickest I would be comfortable trying to hold. Maybe 3/4 would hold but I would really doubt 1 in. YMMV

I took mine apart several times the first day because of the chirping. It seemed like the rubber bumper at the end of the shaft wasn't seating right. I had to flex the whole unit underwater while running to get the noise to go away. It's been silent ever since running at 80%

I had to make sure the "prongs" on the drive side were seated perfectly which pushed the axle out more on the other (endcap) side. Then I made sure the rubber bumper was tight around the axle, and then placed the black rubber ring around the end being careful where the lugs on the outside of the ring sat once I placed it in the cradle.
The teardown on page 40 shows this in detail.
Anyone one else had one die yet? Came home yesterday to find this the third time...and this one was one that had already been replaced. I have kept them very clean, reassembled each time properly and they have ran very well each time. Come home to the red warning light on the controller on and nothing happening with the pump. All less than 3 months each time they have quit. Looking like i may have to go back to my ecotech products. Loved how these moved the water and they moved a lot.
I've noticed that as well, I wish there were some way to mount it closer to the surface.

I tried to read through some of the thousand posts. Is the consensus that the jecod is a good buy vs a few hydors or jebao and wave controller? Looking to put the 40 in my 75 that will be fowlr.

I finally put one of my Jecod crossflows to work. It's in an 18x18x10 frag tank. I set it at the bottom so it will run one way and blow stuff off the bottom from underneath the egg crate racks and then the other way to push water along the top toward the weir/overflow. So far so good. I need to cut down my egg crate floor as the pump takes up some of the room at the bottom. I intend to cut it in half and attach magnets so I'll have 2 easily removable racks that can go into other tanks if I need them out of the frag tank.
I've had a Maxspect Gyre for 2 or 3 months now. It's on one end of my 180g sps/lps reef tank. I've had zero issues with it so far.
Comparing the two, I like the Maxspect controller a little better, but they are not all that different. The Jecod pump does feel a bit heavier and more stout. We'll see how it runs for the long haul. My first thoughts are, I can't justify the extra cost of the Maxspect Gyre.
I have quite a few of the original Jebao WP wavemakers and I've had issues with some. All in all I'm not impressed, but for the cost difference, they are OK. I think the newer generations have been better built. I also have 4 of the first generations of the Jebao DC12000 pumps and a new DCT15000 and the DC12000 are all working flawlessly for more than 2 years. The DCT15000 isn't in use yet, but it does seem even more stout than the DC generation. And I assume the newer generations are even better. I'm hoping Jecod has learned a thing or two and the new Crossflow will be durabile right from the start.

I noticed 3 little arrowheads on each side of the gyre. Each side can be rotated independently. Are the arrows just a guide, they don't seem to click or anything. I have it mounted horizontally at one end of the tank about 4 inches from the surface with the cord on the top. I'm assuming the side with the cord is the top but there is indication of top/bottom.

What a great deal! If I can find that deal I'd buy 2 more. The flow in my little frag tank is amazing!
Soooo, no one here has had one die yet? Get the red warning light on the controller on and nothing happening? Am i doing something wrong? This is the second one of which the first motor was replaced. About to ditch these. Saw several at the shop under the counter...all dead.

Thats odd. Have you adjusted the cages at all? I've been running one of my maxspect gyres horizontal definitely not more then 2" from the surface with zero suction. The two products should be similar enough for both to be able to do the same.
I disassembles each side and cleaned and re-assembled as i had take it apart. Everything spun freely. Put it back in tank and was working fine for several days. Came home to dead pump. Took it apart down to just the motor portion and still did not work. No snails or anything in it.

I Bought two of these for my 84 inch long custom 240 gal tank end of first week in june. After two days one of them started giving red error message on the controller. I took it apart as suggested in this thread several times over a period of a week or so it would work for a bit then do the same,
Now a week ago a few days past the amazon return date the second one just stopped working and would give a red error light as well. tore it apart cleaned it put back together. again would not run. I Took it apart and tried to run the motor only in the sink. only way it would run is if i tried to spin it with my fingers.After some testing it was not my spinning it that got it running. it was WIGGLING THE wire. So i went back to the other unit and checked sure enough touching the wire going into the motor causes it to error out as well..
i called amazon and the rep told me they have had several similar calls on the device and even thou i was a week past the return date they would give me a refund..
I Had rw-8 do the same thing.. never will i put a jaebo device in my tank again..
just my two pennies i learned my lesson you get what you pay for and i am back yo using my 4-6 year old hydor wave pumps.i also think the cross-wave has too many moving parts and do not create any better water movement.I do like the way the can be located tucked to the side of the tank more.
