Jebao DCP return pump?

How are they getting away with the 5000, 6500, 8000, and 10000 all using the same size body? Are the internals the same? Is there any reason to buy one of the smaller ones instead of just getting the 10000 and running it at a lower setting?
 
The minimum speed is 30% of max. So the minimum speed of the 10000 is 3000. If that works then you can get the 10000, otherwise you go to the model with lower flow rating.

I only own the 5000 so cannot compare, but it is possible that they are all exactly the same with only the difference in controller.
 
Can someone please help me plumb the return line on my DCP 4000? The only fitting I could find at my local Handyman store that would fit the output of the pump was the female portion of a 1/2" union. However the ID of the output of the pump seems to be over 3/4 and closer to 1". So my questions are as follows:

Is there another fitting that would SCREW on to the output of the pump that would match or closely match the ID of the pumps output?

If I'm stuck with the 1/2" union, would it be better for me to continue the rest of the return at 1/2" or would it be better to bump up in size? Also could you please explain why?

Didn't your pump come with like 10 different fittings? Mine did and the one I picked was the 1", reg 1" PVC pipe or PVC flex fit it perfectly.

Are you sure? Just asking because they give you a choice of barb and slip fittings and the 1" slip fitting fits my 1"spa flex like a charm.
 
the dcp 4000 is not the same (smaller) than dcp 5000 and up.
if you got the dcp 5000 or higher, then the fittings fit perfectly to 3/4 and 1" pvc.
it looks like the fitting for dcp4000 will work with 1/2" (you only tried 1 and 3/4 in the youtube video).

I think I've seen other people take one side of a 3/4" union, and grind down the disk so it will fit into the jebao threaded ring.
 
I'm here at Home Depot trying some of the suggestions above and no luck yet. Been here playing with it for a freaking hour ��
 
try a reducer bushing. I think I read about that trick in another thread for one of those expensive high end pumps that use metric fitting. as long as the disc (or lip, don't know what it is really called) fits in place on the stock ring, then you are good.

for a dcp 4000, I'd say 3/4" is good. I have hard plumbed a dcs4000 using 3/4" and it has tons of flow at a low setting, compared to using 1/2" where I had to run the pump at a much higher setting to get the same flow.

you should post what you did, as that will be helpful to others that got the dcp 3000 and 4000.
 
smaller to larger direction should be fine (pump to larger hose).
the other way around will leak.

I have dry fitted pvc using a slip to slip coupling, and it leaks on the output side but not on the input side.
