 Nah, just didn't want to/couldn't at the moment, go for a larger BK, especially external.

But, to a current BK owner/fellow ATB lurker/anti H&S bandwagon buddy!:D

sweet tank, I am in the process of setting up a 300gal. Envisions. Quality is second to none IMO.

tbone-time to join the H&S club? :D

I really didn't get where T was coming from either? You wouldn't trade a BK for a H&S would you? You have the best. The Bentley of skimmers. Mercedes are nice but.....

I am selling my BK and replacing it with a H&S. I'm closing in on 400 gallons, which is the upper recommended limit for the BK D 200. I really like to stock heavily, and if you ask Mark, my potential fish list is rather large. So, that left me with a couple of choices. BK D 250, preferably external, BK SM 250, ATB Medium, or H&S A200 or A250-2x1260. Where the real problem came in was I really didn't want to burn through any more of my $ that I could be using on corals and fish. That really narrowed the field. Then, the A200-2x1260 became available for an awesome discount. Case closed.

So, if anyone wants to buy a BK Deluxe 200 Internal that has only been used since Feb, send me a PM.:D

Good luck with that Chad. I believe that Jim and Jeremy have ran H&S in the past so they already understand their quality.

IMO, once you get to the upper echelon of skimmers, there is not much difference between skimmer companies and designs. Especially when you take the the best skimmers out there are only pulling 10-15% of organic waste, at best, from the tanks water column.

Now the question is; why would you pay 50% for a skimmer where there are no quantifying evidence that shows either way, which one is better. The difference between the luxury skimmers is unproven and I would take the reliability of a Mercedes when it might cost me 2-3 months to get my bently fixed.

like I've told you Mark, it's more an issue of *want* than need, just like buying luxury cars. You can't go wrong with any of the mentioned skimmers. It 's up to the individual owners if they want to pay more for a particular line.
