well i just read your whole thread and look like you though everything very well. Have you received your lights already? Your are not going to go with a canopy right?

Well, quick update, though not tank related. I'm home to pick up a few things and drop off my youngest daughter at a friends house so they can watch her for us.
My 6 yr old daughter Jaiden was playing in the living room with her sister this morning, jumping off of the couch onto some pillows on the floor. When I went out to feed the dogs, she decided to stand on the little end table next to the couch. As you can imagine, it tipped, sending her sprawling. She must have tried to break her fall by putting her arm down. I came back in to her screaming, her arm bent back at an angle that is just too gruesome to think about. Rushed her to the ER, and after a few shots of morphine, and a scan, found out she has, even by their standards, a nasty break right at the elbow, as well as the elbow being totally dislocated. They immediately started working on lining up some time in the OR, as they'll have to do surgery to repair the damage. They don't yet know the extent, if any, of the nerve damage that may have been done, as there are quite a few nerves that run along the elbow.
I'll give an update as soon as I know anything else.

oh man, i'm sorry to hear about that jeremey :(. hope it looks worse than what it really is. hang in there man. i remember adele broke her arm at 18 months and it scared us bad.

Jeremy, not the circumstances I was expecting when I started reading your thread, but you and your daughter are in my prayers. I hope everything turns out okay.

Spoke to ya earlier after it happened, but same goes here :)

I wish you, Mandy, Morgan and Jaiden all the best for the best possible results and a speedy recovery.

Hang in there pal :)

Bro, That is terrible sorry to hear. Praying for you. Maybe i will see you there. you at Sutter?
At 8 weeks my wife had a small syst on left overy no biggie. Well lately has been hurting off and on. Monday we had ultra sound and had found out it has grown to 11CM. had OB on tuesday. he said we will monitor it but since wife is pregnant would rather not remove unless necesarry. He said syst could turn and cut blood to overy and she would know the pain would not stop and she would be in ER. but this was very rare. Well guess what happened yesterday morning. Yep incredlible pain and would not stop. Well they had to go in and remove the overy it was all twisted and black from no blood flow. but everything went well, baby seems to be doing great. I'm going to pick her up in a little bit she had to stay over night and i had to come home to lay baby down and feed.

Monday they couldn't get a good shot of the sex. but when she went to ER and they checked the syst it was conformed another girl:)
once again i hope all is well and everything works out.

Davey

Jermey and Davey
I hope every thing goes well for your families.

These things make reefing a very small part of our lives.

God Bless

Chris

A family update:
Jaiden had surgery today. Luckily they were able to avoid an incision, as they managed to get the bone re-set and pinned without noticeably pinching any nerves or blood vessels. She does have a weak pulse in that hand, her left, so they kept her overnight to monitor the situation and determine whether or not they might have to go in after all and sort things out.
Other than being a bit cranky when waking up, which is normal after anesthesia I'm told, she's doing well, and is in relatively good spirits. She is still in obvious pain, especially every time she has to get up to use the restroom, but she's a trooper. The summer and vacation plans may need to be modified now, as she won't be able to do any of the things she'll want to do, and seeing others that are enjoying the pool, bike riding, and horseback riding may just be torture for her.
For the next several weeks, she'll have a splint with the pins in her arm, but then she'll end up with a full cast for who knows how long. My plans for the weekend have taken a 180, but that's of little consequence. Sure wish I could start this day all over again.:(

Oh, and thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers. It means more than I can articulate at the moment. I'm not a guy that cry's, but when my daughter was lying in that hospital bed, whimpering in pain, and there was absolutely nothing I could do for her, it was more than I could bear. I held up so well while getting the girls together, to the hospital, and all through the initial stages. But once the initial shock wore off, well, that was all folks.

Sorry to hear that Davey. Hope all is well. I spent my day in the ER, then to the OR, then had to drive Morgan to Vacaville where I met up with my father as my parents will be watching her for a few days, then back to the OR, finishing up in the Pediatric ward. My wife took a break for a few hours, but is now pulling the night duty. As there was no room, I got the boot. Not that my back is complaining.

Thanks. I did have a long time to plan things out. I do have a canopy, but it's in the garage waiting on the LumenMax Elites to come in. I may throw the full size Lumenarcs I've got on for a few days, or longer, until they finally arrive.

JT - about your bulbs, have you tried ordering from Reefgeek? Their packaging is superb.

I tried, but they didn't have any 6' bulbs.

I think that this is only something you experience once you have a little precious bundle that relies on your for everything. That helpless feeling is heart wrenching, but you have to take it in trade for all the smiles, laughs and love you get from them.

Take care!

Have you seen the redtail trigger?

I will be trying one of those in my reef, I love the purple and the red on them.

Chris

I have, but they eat corals. The Pink Tails are reef safe though.
