BTW, you will need to get different male adapters as SLS has their own,

Yeah, Jeremy is gonna throw them in for me :D

I think he has all three. Maybe I should double check that

Why would you have extra one?

Because I rearranging my lighting this weekend and I might put my extra blue wave to use in the garage instead of the gallaxy I am currently employing.

Nice. So you'll run the two double BW's on the display, and stick the single in the garage?

Thats a good idea because your corals in the garage will be getting the same light should you choose the same lamp.

Thanks for stopping by yesterday. I took your advice and fragged a couple small pieces from that milli colony and tossed the rest. Lets see how it goes :)

That is the plan. 1000 watts of halides with even better spread :D

I am running the DE helios in a lumanmax in the garage. Man, do I like the color of the DE helios :sad1:

The electronic wasn't much dimmer than the HQI, but I've got a 30" tall tank, so I figured the little extra umph from the HQI would be a good idea. I do have a double and a single Galaxy for you Jim, as well as the plug ends. Plus, if you decide down line that you'd rather have HQI's, you shouldn't have a problem selling these for at least what you gonna pay for them.:D

Thanks for stopping by yesterday.

It was good to visit. I know that you are battling a few different things. Hang in there Jim. Give it a month and you will see a lot of improvement. Your tank is still very new and it is still building its own biological ecosystem.

BTW, your skimmer is a beast. The airstar will only make it better

Mark,

The DE helios are nice :smokin: But I like the radiums too!

Yeah, I'm just gonna be patient and try to work through these issues. I'm sure as the system matures, there will be improvement. Thanks for the encouragement :)

Jeremy,

Sweet. So there are 3 total  Very nice :D
How long are the connect ends? I have to run them through the wall and out to the garage. Do you think they're long enough? Probably need about 8-10 feet.

LOL, please don't tempt me!

Looking good Jim. I'm going to try to catch you, but it may take me a bit to get there!

That skimmer is super nice, but a little too rich for my blood... ;)

Thanks for dropping in Pete!

Yeah, it was a little spendy, but I love high end skimmers :D

My problem is that I've been having some issues with my sps corals browning out though.

Here are my params:
DKH-10.5
CA-425
Phos-.06 (hanna)
Nitrate-10
Specific gravity: 1.026

The phos is a little high, so I think that maybe part of the problem, but my tank is also very young with only about 140 lbs of LR (I wanted a very open tank). So I added the dsb. Hopefully in the next few months it'll populate with bacteria to help with the bio load, as well as feed the reef with nutrients and help buffer the water.

My other problem is a case of ich that just won't go away :(

I added a maculiceps and dussumier tang about 2 months ago. Since then ich has just been a big problem. It was never a problem for me in the past, but now I can't seem to get rid of it.

The two new tangs are the ones most affected, but its starting to spread to the others now.

I'm trying several different approaches to help bring their immune system back up. They seem to be aggressive and are still eating like pigs, so there is hope. I'm just gonna keep working at it, and see what I can do :)

Hows the magnesium levels?

I've only ever combated ich, after infection, with UV, garlic and tons of food. Not very scientific, and of course QT and prophylactic treatment is much better.

Sorry, Mg is 1300.

Yeah, I'm doing water changes, feeding garlic and trying a couple different medications/additives. Hopefully I can beat it :)
