Sorry bout your Ich i have a little also on my flame. Not bad at all just scratches.
Think that stupid fine spotted wrasse stressed a few fish out. i really gotta get him out.

Sup Mark :)

Most of the stuff came through. Still waiting on 1/2 of my order from DF&S.

I'm all set up :D

The ssb in the display is gonna have to wait for a week or two. I'd like to put it in, but I spent a lot of money last week (like a LOT), and I also have some wedding stuff to pay for, so the tank budget is spent until my next check, unfortunately.

I'm really looking forward to adding it though :)

Davey, thanks :) I hope you can get it out w/out having to tear the tank apart :)

Be carefull adding that sand bed you can really **** off your corals. I would try to remove as many as possible before adding.

BTW I though all you SPS nuts were BB junkies hahahaha. I used to hate BB tanks now I love them!!!

With the Ich make sure your temp stays as stable as possible. Flucuating temps can cause ich outbreaks every time.

I'm telling you all these Large Tanks in Sac these days makes me wanna take a Tour of Sac.!!!!

Mesh for now. Its working pretty good too. I'm really impressed. I did a mesh mod on my ER and wasn't impressed with the results.

I hoping to get the new pump towards the end of the month. I believe it will also have a meshwheel. I will probably purchase a pinwheel too. Just so that I can compare :)

The new pump will be needlewheel.

Really?? Man I did the mesh mod on my ER and it works too good. I actually have to place a filter sock over the outlet to prevent microbubbles from getting back into the tank. I need to take it apart and trim the mesh but I'm too lazy. I have to empty the cup daily!!!

What pump are you running Rob?

I was running the eheim, and with the mesh mod, it didn't draw any extra air because I only did 3 layers. If I would have added a 4th layer, the air draw would have increased, but the 8" wide 24" tall body I was running was pretty much maxed out at 900 lph.

If you run the sedra, your performance will go through the roof :D

About your DSB post,

Yeah. I like the ease of BB tanks. They are very easy to take care of.

But after hanging out with Mark and Jeremy, they convinced me that running a sand bed is worth it.

We'll see I guess. Mark just sent me a PM telling me he's pulling the SB in his fuge

From now on, I'm gonna be a little bit more hesitant ;)

 Thats a new one.

Your telling me. I'm not on here enough for all these abbreviations these day. There is about 12 things I came up with for that one:lol:  The only one I know these days is IBTL and ***

Sang, where can we see some pics of your set up?? I know you got the killer chit again bro!!

HAHAHA I don't like sand anymore unless it is 6" or deeper HAHAHA.

Yep I am only running a RS 80 with the sedra and a gate valve and mesh mod on my 110g cube. With that and the RDSB my Trates have been 0 so far with 9 fish and 5 feedings per day. I have been hesitant on adding any real goodies to the tank (coral wise) until I see what it can handle.

Hey seeing Mark's tank I don't think his advice could be that bad ;) LOL

Yep. My fuge is for chaeto as a nutrient export. I started a 2" layer of sand in my fuge that was basically from my old tank to help the cycle. Now that the tank is stable, I want the option just to siphon the detritus out of my chaeto area. That way everytime I do a wc, I get all the stray chaeto strands out as well as keeping my entire sump clean.

DSB's need to be deeper than I want to provide for them to work properly. A couple inches is just a start. Look at Johns display the next time you are out there.
