Juvi Blueline Angelfish

Thanks alot, I will try to put up some better ones in the next few days. They are still a little bit shy they have only been in the tank for two days, but they are eating like pigs.
 
Very nice looking pair. How's their interaction?

I'm sure it will not take long for them to start eating other frozen, flakes and pellets. These little guys are always hungry so mix up the type of foods you feed them. I alternate between frozen and dry food to get them eating everything.

Thanks, they get along great now they swim all around the tank together all day. When I first put them into the tank they took less than 5 minutes to figure out who the boss of them was. I'm trying to get them on pellets but they are being picky right now, what flakes do you use?
 
Very good to hear how well the pair is getting along.

Given their small size I've been feeding them Bluezoo Aquatics' Mix (very small flakes & pellets). As with the larger fish I use Omega One Marine Flakes and NLS pellets.

I'm feeding mine a mix of hikari and PE mysis (the hikari is a better size for the small juvi), and some NLS pellets, but the small juvi won't eat the pellets yet (interesting as I've only had the larger 3.25" adult for a day now!).
 
Mine still won't touch flakes or pellets, but eat Hikari small mysis like crazy!! The smallest one eats so much at a time that it looks like it swallowed a pea. Both of them are still getting along great and the one with juvi colors is starting to have its yellow band starting to fade.
 
I've yet to find anything that mine will eat with gusto. They pretty much are just hiding in the rocks all the time, coming out in the evening when the lights go off. They appeared to be healthy, so I did move them into my display tank, figuring that there's more to nibble on in there than in the pretty steril QT I had them in.

My pygmy coral beauty proceeded to terrorize them, keeping them in the top corner of the tank and attacking them with everything it had if they dared to leave the corner. Of course, now the angel is in the QT (after basically taking apart my whole rockscape to get her out..).

I hope that they feel safer in the rock, and that over the next week or two they'll come out of the rocks. I think they're still in the "oh crap where's that bully now" mode. I do squirt some food into the place I know they're in when I feed the tank - but I can't see them well enough to have any ideas as to if they're eating anything or not.

How long can one of these little guys go without eating? I worry about them...
 
I'm not as experienced nor adventurous as most of you are, pairing juvenile Blueline Angelfish so I decided to buy the Blueline pair that was for sale on DD. I already have one in my eel tank but always wanted a pair.

This pair has been for sale on the DD site for more than 6 weeks so I'm sure they have been well taken care of.
I could probably bypass QT but decided against it so they are in my 55 gallon QT. I'll observe them for a couple of weeks and if everything is ok, they will join my pair of Crosshatch Triggers in the 300 DT.

Got them this morning, both fishes were in huge bags, tons of water... thanks DD.

The male is about 4.5" and the female about 3.5", they are doing great, already ate some mysis shrimp and there is barely any aggression from the male, just once in awhile he gets that "get out of my way" attitude.

Took some pics but they are not great, hard to get both of them exactly next to each other and not moving.

They've been on there for a long time - I was considering them myself =p

I'm sure they'll do fine after so long in the hands of the divers den staff. Glad to hear that they're eating right away!
 
Why is there such a high sudden availability/interest of these fish? Have they always been available in such numbers and people just didn't notice?

I have to admit, I found out about them being available from this thread..
 
Wow, that is a whole lot of Bluelines! Pricing is about the same, I think 16,500 yen is about $200 USD.

I also wonder why the sudden surge in availability. While they have been in the hobby before, they've never been available in these kind of numbers. Would they stop collecting them already!!!! If everyone has one, then I'm not special anymore, haha. :)

Thanks!!! They are awesome, not shy at all, very curious about their new surroundings and you can tell they are definitely paired up since there is almost no aggression from the male.

Definitely well taken care of, came in nice and thick. The blue lines are almost neon blue. I almost bypassed the QT and to tell you the truth, I think I could of......eight weeks at the hands of DD's staff, they probably got better care them most of us could give them. LOL !!!

I called them to ask them what size tank they were in and they told me 48"x 22"x 18". That's a pretty decent size tank.... 65 gallons right?
