I tried it twice about 10 years ago in a 120. Heavily fed tank with more assertive tank mates and I ended up with one mean chromis each time. I think each time it took around a year until there was only one left. I would not try it again. Just my experience.

I wish someone would get to the bottom of this. 20+ years ago I kept large schools of chromis in almost every tank I maintained. No causalities, and I didn't even know what Uronema was back then. So, what's changed? Are chromis nowadays being collected in a different location??
I recall reading that there are at least two very similar looking green chromite sub species with possibly different temperaments. I have no idea if this was accurate.
Has anyone had long term success with any of the other chromic species in groups like the Blues or some of the lesser known species offered on Live Aquaria or DD? Some of those are really interesting beautiful fish.
Mine were picked up very young as well, around 1" or so.
How may total fish do you have in your 225? Great tank, BTW!
