just got two A360W on a 55inch X 30 inch and 27 inch deep .
was not sure at start and may need another light but after reducing ripples on water by lowering water feed return it looks a lot better .
just got to work out how to mount as only temp mount so I can move lights around to get right height and spacing.
the place where I bought them were out of goosenecks.

It's similar to unistrut. It's a metal U-bar used for mounting shelving. I just cut it to length. It gets the job done nicely I think. It's connected to some pulleys so I can lift it up out of the way if I need more space.

Down the road I may supplement with a build-my-LED 72" bar or a couple of T5's at the front of the tank (mounted to the plywood seen above). Still thinking things over.

Went back to my LFS and snapped a couple pics. This is a CAD Lights Artisan Series 45g (dimensions are 36" x 24" x 12"), lit by a single Kessil A360WE w/custom clamp mount. I'm not sure what the intensity or hue settings were. My iPhone takes pics wierd, but these are really close to what it looks like in person. In real life, it's a bit less blue, if you can imagine.

i have the exact same tank and was wondering if one would work. looks perfect IMO! i settled for the AI Hydra, but love the kessil A150 i had on my 14 gallon... imma make the switch now! thanks for the pics!

After watching a couple of videos on these lights as well as reading this thread, I'm really considering these lights for my 180 also. I'd love to know how three of them end up doing on your tank.

Im currently setting up a 66 gallon that is 32x24x20, do you guys think i could get away with one of these lights for the whole tank? I plan on keeping my rock /corals a few inches off the glass in all directions (this was my biggest complaint with previous tanks, makes cleaning glass a PITA!) so im hoping for a realistic coverage of around 28" lengthwise.

One will cover, but I don't know about 20" deep. The pics above look great..the single Kessil on shallow tank. But may be very different on your deep tank.

This is one benefit of the tiny Kessil. Buy one, and see how it works out. If you need more light, buy another Kessil.

Thanks. They do light up a 6' tank nicely. Not turned up all the way in that shot either. They run cool and consume very little power as well.

Mounted higher you would get enough coverage for most corals with the wide model. Strategic coral placement and the right aquascape you could do it. These put out a lot of light, you would be surprised that you could still grow stony corals 12" off center.

There will be spillage at the front and rear. There was another Kessil thread where someone brought up mounting "barn doors" to the Kessil A360's. Might not be a bad look, and will solve spillage problems.

As far as par readings outside of Kessil's claimed 24" spread, you probably won't be able to grow anything outside of that range. It will light up the aquarium tho, as evidenced by that pic I posted.

I have a 100 gal + 40 gal sump. According to the rules, I would require 500-700 watts. I have 2 Kessil 360WE. They are 90 watts each. I've never seen anyone using more than 3 kessils on a 100 gal tank.. so how does it reach the required wattage?

We don't really refer to that rule these days due to the wide differences in lighting options. Also it refers to only the area that will be lite excluding sumps and stuff like that.

Always refer to manufacture recommendations for lighting coverage. Kessil says the A360W will cover a 24" area by 3' deep. The 360N is 18" and 4-5' deep.

I have a 100 gal. tank. 60x18x24

Kessil recommended 3 A360WE for my tank. I currently have 2. I was planning on supplementing with my T5s in order to grow better corals. However, I found out that my crappy T5s are only 18watts per bulb. 2 bulbs each (10k white and actinic) (Coralife Aqua light 30")
