Heres the light bar we made for the fixtures. Awesome lights

New guy here so be easy...

I have a JBJ 30G 23 inches long and 17 high. I have a kessil A160 with controller. The light is mounted via pendant and sit 13" from the top of the water.

Tank is really new so I only have some zoa's, ACAN frags, Favia frags, and some Ric's. Everything is on still on the acclimation program but when that acclimation cycle is done it returns to the program I set. Planning on picking up some more LPS in the very near future.

I made the program to ramp to 65% max intensity at 85% color. Is this ok for LPS/Softies? I do plan to stock SPS but that is 4-5 months down the road.

I would just mannually just update the program everyday. So increase the imtencity yourself. That's what I did. Other than that just call kessil, they'll give you a walk through

thank you, currently that is kind of what I am doing. I should have been more clear about my true question. Is 65% max intensity (post acclimation) too much for LPS softies with how I set up my light? Rock in the center part of tank is about 9-10 inches at highest point. I have the ACANs/LPS about 3/4 high and off to the side of the rock-scape (outer edges of rock-scape.)

For a 72x24x29 tank do you guys think 3 is enough to grow prodominently sps? If not, how can I add more a 4th or 5th evenly spaced without getting the 2 cross braces under the lighting?

Try 50% and up it by 5% every 2 days and stop when you notice the best response from your coral

I have my 360we set at 25% max intensity and it seems ok right now for my two corals to acclimate in the shade. This light is very intense

No. 4-5 kessils. 2 sides and 3 narrows would be perfect. If not its halide for you or t5 if you want sps

I posted this in another Kessil a couple of days ago but have yet to get a response.

I'm currently planning my 40 breeder and purchased 2 360WE lights. I couldn't wait so I put them over my current tank. Anyone else seeing more algae in the tank on the glass when they first switched?
I have them connected to my Apex and running them at 60% max intensity for 10 hours. I'm moving from a single AI Hydra unit.

How long have they been on your breeder?

The picture is of my current 37 and the lights have been on it for about a month now. I have to redo my carpet so I have to move the tank anyway so I'm planning and purchasing equipment for my 40 breeder. I simply don't have room in my apartment for a bigger tank.

I know going from a 37 to a 40 breeder isn't a big upgrade but the 40 will be drilled (that lifereef overflow is big and ugly and my son threw a ball in the tank that clogged the overflow and almost started a flood) and offers better aquascape options and I can get a bigger sump in my cabinet. Plus those long tanks look better.

NO... to answer you and a couple other questions my 200g tank pictured above is 72x24x27 and predominately SPS (50+ frag-colony size) + zoas, shrooms, Ricordia, RBTA's etc. I had the same question and originally thought about 4 evenly spaced lights but it would not work because of cross braces and the overflow (cross braces are at left and right side of overflow). Then it dawned on me the center light is all that's needed for the mid section (adjusted slightly down and more forward) because of the overflow. And of course it also gets light from left/right sides. So my only real choice was the more expensive option of 5 lights with 2 left, 2 right and 1 center and it worked out great. I am also running the lights only about 4" from water line for best effect and no little to no light spillage.

After running the lights at 100% I had a significant increase in turf algae on my rock (still trying to get rid of) and the glass needed to be cleaned more frequently. I'm thinking it's to much output in the 10k range.
