The light wavelength on the blue spectrum is already programmed into the intensity knob. It mainly is a control for how much it's outputting. So the color dial is only tuning the visible wavelengths and adding them to the spectrum that's already there.

I think it's a programmed preset ratio of blue like you said but not part of the intensity knob. The intensity knob will increase the output of whatever blue and white mix is selected by the color knob.

I notice that when you turn up the intensity while the setting is at its bluest, the color will change to a slightly less blue. More intense of course, but also certainly whiter. Its like another led kicks in and this one is not as blue. I have two and they both act the same way.

All I see about it on their site is this:

"Kessil's new proprietary Kessil Logic[emoji769], a unique form of spectral intelligence developed for precise color blending and optimal coral growth. In this new design, instead of varying the light intensity of two different channels to find the desired color and intensity mix, users can select the perfect spectrum and color with one knob and then adjust the intensity with the other."

Bingo. The intensity is more or less raw power. And the color is tuning it to your eyes liking.

K! Welp looks like we're on the same page. That's a good thing! I love love love my lights.

Yeah I like the color and shimmer they produce compared to other options. In that respect, I like them better than the T5s I supplement with. Like anything else, they do have their downsides as well.

I've been very happy with mine, even bought them used and they keep on working. I've had contact with kessil in the past and they seem to be serious about what we're doing.

I've got 8 Kessil 360WE's over my 480g display. It's 4'x8'x2' tall. The lights are controlled by my Apex. My tank is primarily soft corals with some LPS mixed in. My corals love the lights and so do I.

Can you tell me what kind of mounts you're using for your 360WE's? Love this setup, but I can't seem to find a compliant adapter to mount as you have. Would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

So since my 1 yr warranty was up. Kessil only offered to sell a new 360 for $290. They don't sell parts so I cold fix the unit. I asked if they could repair the unit. They can and would for a fee that could add up to the replacement cost of $290. So guess I'll be using this unit as a glorified fish light for another aquarium without corals.

Well that sucks. Never had that type of experience with them.

Did you purchase through a LFS? If so, see if they'll get involved.
