kudoras 84 gallon thread

Hey Buddy!!!

I feel your coraline scraping pains. Did the same today.

I am glad to see you again today! Wishing you happy reefer ju ju!

thx raen!!!

ugh i hate when i get glue on my hands after mounting something, the pearlberry was knocked down by one of the tangs not used to a coral being on that part of the rock or something.

just got back, drove 100 miles in -10 weather to get a ora pearlberry and a ora green monti cap, wish i remembered the name, its a researchers name. plus i picked up the first inhabitant for the 30 gallon..... :)
Nice... I saw a real nice pic of the Pearlberry in the SPS forum the other day. It's definitely on my list for the near future now.

just aclimated the corals in the tank, wow that revive smells like strong pinesol lol i was not expecting that kind of smell.

pics in a bit my brother in law is comming with his camera
The first time I used Revive I had the same reaction. There's definitely some killing power in it! It smelled so strong that I instituted a rinse after the dip.

A buddy of mine has a Blue Hippo Tang that does that all the time... drives him nuts. Hopefully yours was a 1-time incident.

i think so, we had a club meeting today so there were frags of certain things, i wanted the pearlberry so i got a frag, i tried mounting it with just glue instead of on a piece of rubble then on the rock work, my fault really :)

k here are some pics, my brother in laws camera is on the frizt, i wont recognize its xd card for some reason.

i really wish my camera had white balance lol

It would make a good bread basket:lol:

i just put another 2 pep shrimp last monday, and they are no were to be found, i have prob spent an hour a night looking for them using the red light or under dim lights. for the first 2 days they were out day and night.

current fish stock list
yellow kole eye tang
powder brown tang (whiteface)
pajama cardinal
green mandarin
algae blenny
firefish

inverts
5 nass snails
10 cerith
5 turbos
9 astreas
1 large cleaner shrimp
1 pistol shrimp
5 or 6 hermit crabs
tiger tail cucumber

i should have 3 pep shrimp in the DT, i can find the 2 pep shrimp in the sump area no problem.

any ideas on who is taking them out.

here is a pic of my ora galaxea, the pic is a month old but it really has not grown much, i sends some very long tenticles out tho, up to 4 or 5 inches max no other coral can be near it. the toadstool next to it had to be moved, it has yet to recover.

they are 48x18x18 its kinda cool looking, dunno if its going to be a fresh or saltwater tank yet.
Would make a nice looking African cichlid tank.

thats true, i have had cichlids in the past, and it would make a nice home for them :)
If only salt tanks were as easy to keep as an African tank...... Feed it and leave it, at least that's how mine is. That tank would look very nice planted with some cichlids, and probably a heck of a lot cheaper to set up and run. I seem to get just as many nice comments on my African tank as I do the different salt tanks.

i might have to try that, the tank it has is old and i wouldnt trust the silicone, so i am looking at selling an extra 55 i have and buying a new 75

just checked the DT and it looks like i was able to take care of 80% of the aiptasia after going to town with joes juice last night.
