Here are some new additions to the tank that I'm soo excited about...

I've always wanted a crosshatch trigger it's one of my favorite fishes ever! He is about 9" long and is truly beautiful...he now resides in my quarantine tank and I hope he makes it to my display tank!

The other fish if you can't tell is a really nice 5"-5.5" Sohal tang that looks really great as well...these are one of my favorite fishes as well but I hear that they can get super aggressive! Anyone has experience with Sohal tangs and how to manage their aggression??

Nice haul today... Where did you find such large pieces?

How did you end up configuring the kalk reactor?

Dave

Hey Dave,

About three weeks ago I came across another reefer who was taking down his system and wanted to sell his collection...so I paid a pretty good amount and now have a beautiful collection of a lot of aqua cultured colonies!
:hb2:

Also I have been in and out of town a lot recently so I have not set up the KalK reactor :(

From what my experience and of other reefers(disclaimer that this is only an opinion) the sohal is one of those fish that should be placed last in the tank. But depending on how you feed will control the aggression. I had a sohal from a previous tank and when i upgraded to my present 225 i put him in the tank first and when i added my other tangs to the tank he let them know whos boss real quick up until he passed away. But you also have to remember what happened in my tank probaby wont happen in your tank. Not all sohals are created equal so you might have one with a good attitude.

Tank is looking good and the new additions look lovely.

Awesome additions George.

Those are some nice peices. I have heard that those sohals can get very aggressive, howeveer with all that space you may not have any problems at all.

Good find George !
Love the crosshatch

I wonder how it will get along with his Achilles tang?

Thanks Lawrence...I've always wanted a crosshatch and I hope he will be happy and healthy! He looks like a huge football...but so far he is shy!

As far as the sohal getting along with the Achilles...I think it should work. I've got a 8" Achilles a 5.5" Powder Blue and a 3" Powder Blue and they seem fine together.

The Sohal is probably Agressive enough to hold his own...but we will see!

Thank you for sharing your experience with your fish keeping...My sohal and my purple tang will be my last additions to the tank because I've already seen my purple tang (which has been with me for 2.5 years) punk/kill any new fish that has his same shape (for example: copperband butterfly, bannerfish, etc.)

Hopefully with the larger size tank I will not experience the same level of aggression that I had in my 145 gallon tank.

I might get a crosshatch too
But it has to be at least 10" hopefully I will see one at SDC when I am
Ready .

Thought I would upload a very short video to keep you guys updated...I'll release a full video in the next couple of days God willing.
