Learning/rebuilding from my epic fail

I'm not even going to say anything in protest of your amazing tank!! All these nice comments... hah! Not from me :lolspin:

Mike, thank you! When you tank 'grows up' it's not going to need to look like anybody else. It's in a class of its own!

Thanks! I'll do my best!

:) anytime, Flo!

Thanks, I hope to not disappoint!
The really close ups are with Canon's 100 mm macro L lens- so yes, a very good lens. But most of the wider shots are with Canon's EF-S 15-85 mm. Not an L but still pretty sharp.
I'm looking to buy the 60mm macro by Canon just it have a little bit wider field of view but still the sharpness of a macro..

Here's a few more..

This is supposed to be called Cherry Blossom. It hasn't started to grow yet, so I'm not sure what its potential is.. From uncle Raja.

This is a cool wild Aussie frag that grows excruciatingly slow.. Very cool looking..

Last one.. Classic red dragon. Always looks so cool up close..

Ok.. That's all my new shots... :)

Interesting I have the same lense. Now I just need a tank as nice as yours to photograph... Lol

Just jaw dropping pictures Matt

I'm going to read through the whole trend
Good luck with the marathon and thanks, Robbie!

Could be Flo, we'll have to compare once they start growing. :)
you're an acro growing machine

Thanks, Zack. Thing have recently really started to take off..
Ok! I was in a macro mood, tonight.. Here's a teaser.. I don't think I'll be able to fit many or any photos in this post.. Here's one.
Spathulata

More to follow.. I've switched out my coral+ bulbs for more blue +.. Makes the photos come out even more blue which requires more 'warming' in post..
Really makes the colours rich...

These two shots are called very simply..
war!
Pink lemonade and orange passion have met and it's not going amicably..

Two mystery corals..

These could be a red robin and 24k.. Not 100%sure..

Supposed red robin and cultured Acro..

Here's the best shot I can get of my blueberry wine. It's so far back in the tank and close to the surface that it's hard to shoot..

Couple mystery pieces..

Got more.... MORE.... Mmmmmooooouuuuuhaha!! :)

:) incoming!!
Just couldn't help myself. Don't know why.. Just happened..
Ok.. More..
Fiji frag..

Cultured.. Same as above cultured Acro coral (from last post)

Mystery coral. Really growing now..

Smaller jawdrop

Furiosa..

Another mystery coral also growing like crazy.

Same coral..

Ok last few and then I'll need a cigarette.. ;)
I can't stop taking the Fiji fruit bowl..

A new little frag starting to grow and color up..

Another new cultured piece. Crazy potential.. I hope.

Ok that's it.. I'm done.

Looks great! I really wish I had the space to start bringing home some of the mariculture stuff that my LFS gets. They shop at the same wholesaler as some of the really big name SPS vendors and get the same mariculture colonies. I just don't have the room to gamble on them coloring up.

Yeah, some of the mariculture stuff is crazy nice.. Sometimes it performs right away and sometimes it take months for a piece to take off.
It's a gamble but when it pays off, it's so worth it.
By the way.. I ran out of room months ago... But somehow new pieces keep making their way into my tank.

i´m going to block your thread from my list and sight!

amazing corals
thanks again Matt

Cheers
Thanks, Flo! :)
I have both the lenses you described and I agree both are nice! Never heard of the 60mm macro lense you describe. Is it a true 1:1 macro lense?

Yes, the macro is a 1:1. It's not an L lens but I'm sure it's nice and sharp.
Do you have a viewing box? That's the ideal way to take top down shots..

Matt,
Dude, you have the craziest collection of acros, and I cannot mention them all, but that jaw dropper is freaking sick! Not only do you have the crazy collection, but you have mad reefing skills too, and the camera work is top notch as well, I love the last set of photos, just awesome bro! Cheers :)

Perry, thanks for checking in! And thanks for the kind words. The tank is really hitting its stride, I am very happy with things at the moment.
I feel that the koralcolor and Micro E are having a positive effect..
No viewing box yet but I plan on buying one soon.
well, get on that and take some pics! :)
So much freakin' eye candy! Love the new pics!!

Thanks, Josh. I love making eye candy, I really do. I'm happy you like it.
