LED SPS Tank ( Taiwan )

I like the overall structure of your rockwork ... clean and pleasing to the eyes!!! Now I gotta go back and re-calculate your tank dimensions ... :spin2:

RC's DIY forum has dozens of DIY LED builds. One thread alone, has split 3 times with almost 4,000 contributions.

This page has a brief summation of DIY LED lighting that is not matched anywhere:

Many builds are brighter than this one. Many are unique. Some are mounted at the ceiling to entirely remove the fixture from the display viewing experience. Try that with fluorescent or even HID!

We are finding that when switching from HID or fluorescent, to LED, we can run one third to one half the watts for equivalent lighting. Payback time on DIY LED fixtures is running a little less than two years over the aforementioned technologies. This doesn't even take into account greatly reduced air conditioning and chiller operating costs.

Another option is the ability a DIY build has to highlight specific areas in a tank for added visual impact. You can also dial-a-K with a DIY LED fixture. A lot of people are using a popular hobby controller to have their fixtures ramp up and down for a more natural diurnal cycle.

If you want to build your own custom LED fixture, that can be tuned the way YOU want your lighting, you should come over and wade in.
