Lemon's New 183 gallon fruity tank!

Anyway, a new FTS. isit better now that i cleaned the sandbed? The white sand reflects so much light that brightness increased about 25%!

FEMALE! roseafascia. i won't worry though. it will turn male soon... so so aggressive and love bossing my marjories around. but no chasing so it's fine. just a simple "Look pal, this tank aint big enough for the both of us, so scram"

Another pic of my white bar mac

Can you please shed some light on this fish for me? The largest fish that I'd considered adding to my aquarium were the Mac or Asfur, and ever since seeing your photo (on pg2 or 3?) of your previous white-bar Mac, I've wanted to track one down.

Sadly, I can't seem to find any of them stateside, and unless I know where the white version is collected, my wholesale rep has no clue about tracking one down for me :sad1: Other than in your thread here, I've never seen one.

That's what i call upscale equipment! i haven't seen a tank like that. not even a sump that looks like that. They all look like its custom made with the cabinet. If we could only afford something like that...:-)

So what ever happened to your dog? was he sick or just old age got into him? Sorry about your loss. i know how it feels to loose a dog specially if you're the one who took good care of him.

White bar maculosus angels are all captive bred and are only available from EZ marines, Taiwan. You will never get a white maculosus from wild shipments from the red sea. so maybe you could ask your lfs to bring in ez marine shipments?

there is also a white bar asfur but those are even rarer and currently unobtainable.

here's the link to the website. look around and you can see their captive bred blue line angels, white bar maculosus and the white asfur

this is so average compared to many of you guys here with thousand over gallon tanks!!

i guess he died of old age. very sad. i picked him up as a puppy along the roadside.

Hi Lemon,

If you don't mind me asking, how expensive and how available are the fish on the ezmarines site?

It seems really nice!

i'm not sure of the availability nor the pricing.

they sell the maculosus angels via sizings. very very juvenile, juvenile, sub-adults.

i never see adults.

anyway for mine i paid 75 singapore dollars. convert it to find out how much it is in your currency

After converting, it seems bloody awesome!!!

Be a total pain to get though. You ever thought about getting a Clarion?

The wrought iron would be nice but I'd go for the interruptus anyday  (dwarf angel prejudice)

Ok, I didn't know that...... hmmmm, they're beautiful... Still I kinda like them to stay small so I guess that's out... (Like I'd ever manage to get one of 'em anyways....)

What was your experience with the colini?? Do you think the trouble with multibar and venustus is due to decompression issues?? Know anyone who's kept them for a long time??

Damn, heartbreaking. I work for the LFS and can tell you that the shipping costs from Taiwan would be a dealbreaker. I also do not have enough local customers with tanks suitable for med/large Angels, as the majority of locals do coral tanks rather than fish tanks, and are always scared that all Angel varieties will eat their coral. Oh well, they do offer quite a nice variety of Angelfish!

the most i'll go for is wrought iron.
The Daedalma is my #1 favorite fish, but over here it would seem their price is $1400-1600 for one specimen :fun2:
At least that is the only pricing I'd seen on them for the past year or so. I have only ever had one wholesaler contact me with some, but my tank was not yet ready for fish at the time and I didn't inquire his price. I've yet to see any state-side since then.

ok i'm kinda frustrated and disheartened currently.

since the starting of my tank, i've delt with a series of problems.

i first had a bad diatom outbreak when it just started. managed to clear it.
next was a giant hair algae problem which lasted weeks. cleared that too! and not it stopped re-growing.
then i had bryopsis outbreak. cleared that, stopped re-growing.
now i'm having problems with dinoflagellates. YES. how unlucky. it's like every bad algae in the book just coming again and again.

will update in a few weeks to see if my dino problem will be fixed! until then~
