Guys a question here: in my tank upgrade I am going to do shallow sandbed (thinking of 1") and not gonna use sugar grain sand any more. But I have a Macropharyngodon bipartitus & a yellow coris wrasses sleep in sandbed (right now I have sugar grain sand).
My question can these wrasses do well & sleep in relatively bigger size sand? If so I can have an area of thicker sand (maybe 3 inch) for them to sleep. If not, as far as I love my leopard & yellow coris(they are nice & fat & lives long time in my tank), I would have to find good home for them.
Thanks!

First post I'm gonna share my Macropharyngodon meleagris. I've had her about two months now, eats like a pig and is active everyday!

My second post is gonna be a question, how well will a Macropharyngodon geoffroy Male get along with a Macropharyngodon meleagris Female?

my LFS had a meleagris they had for prob three months. i would go in at least once a week and watch it DESTROY mysis and brine. i woulda bought it the first time i saw it eat but i figured my little 29g biocube wouldnt be big enough while setting my 120 up. got up to go to the store and it was sold :(

the potters wrasse male will be fine with your female as they are both very timid fish and should make great tankmates for years to come .

very nice leopards there ! be alert to that mystery wrasse as they get pretty aggressive the older and more settled in they get . i have had a few of them and they started off as model citizens and then i began to see tattered finnage on some of my other fish . after some "spying" on the tank i found out that the mystery was the culprit and he had to be sold to someone that had a more aggressive tank . not once or twice but yes three times so keep an eye on him for your and your fishes benefit . they are so cool looking but for some reason they all of a sudden turn into tank harassers and they are relentless once they start . i wish you the best and thanks for the pictures of your awesome fish !

most community non aggresive fish can be housed with leopards but the leopards should be added first and fed their necessary diet .

Wrasseman,
Thanks for the reply. Do you have a thread where I can see your tank and all your amazing wrasses. I cant get enough and I've stalked poor Bradley enough already. Also, if you can point me to any place to get more info on wrasses in general I would love some more info.
Thanks

right here on this tread i have many pictures and if you PM me with your email addressee i can flip you some pictures as its difficult to post here. the way i have my pictures formatted they all would have to be re sized to post here on RC .

Thanks iamwrasseman! Thanks for the heads up on the Mystery Wrasse. I knew about the possibility of aggression setting in as it matures. This one has a crooked jaw kinda like it was broken at some point or born with the defect. It eats everything and is healthy. Maybe the jaw is part of the reason why its so passive. Who knows. I guess time will tell.

LOL, I'm happy to answer any questions you have Brett. We share the same/insane interest....Wrasses.

When I first got interested in them, this thread was one I loved reading.

its funny as many of the mystery wrasses have or grow a crooked jaw as they mature . they actually are very cute and good looking untill they mature then the get ugly IMO . dragon wrasses also do the same thing as i have had one that was eight inches long and reeeeeaaaaly U G L Y !

Thanks for this info. Now I know that the crooked jaw is normal for Mystery Wrasses as they mature. I'm pretty sure mine is almost full grown. It's prob a good 3.5" - 4". Fingers crossed it won't become a bully. I think the crooked jaw gives it come character.
