yes they did note the size and that male is a moose ,good luck with them both .also thanks for the encouragement , i really do appreciate it . just dont get worried if the remain buried for a few days ,remember that they may come out when your not looking and if they are not comphy they will return into the sand . they are certainly best left alone and in a quiet place . just my opinion for what its worth . i will let ya know how mine look tommorow evening .

Just got home from work. The bad- no signs of the choati pair. The good- no bodies. There's a patch of disturbed sand where there was definitely some recent wrasse activity, so I'm sure they're around and kicking. Probably on a different sleep cycle than me right now

well you in this on your own ,the warehouse didnt feel it was good to send the choati's unless they were eating and they were not . they never will in a warehouse atmosphere but they will find that one out . so i guess they are not going to be at my house soon . i hope yours are fine and its perfectly normal for them to stay burried for a couple of days or more so dont panic.

have no worries mate we are all with ya here ! we are all pulling for you for sure . i have shown the DD picture of yours to about ten people ,im so jealous LOL ! if it was meant to be it will certainly happen and the two you have should have a great chance coming from Dr. Fosters & Smith . i like the live brine for the first few days when they appear because they are used to eating live foods they really go for it . you cant depend on its nutritional value but it will help get them eating then you can swith them to other foods .

as long as you have the correct living conditions, i.e., mature tank with plenty of live pods, etc, fine sand bed, deworm, friendly tank mates, fortified live food to induce feeding, great healthy food, stress free environment, you should be good to go!

any good words Tylt33 ? we are all hoping that all is well but you havent posted and thats not sounding like good news . i really am pulling for ya ! let us know please . i have spent thousands on the choati leopards and only have pictures to prove it but no live fish out of about 10 .

I put the fish in Tuesday- I haven't seen them swimming around since. Really frustrating. HOWEVER, when I look under the tank I can see the male's tail, and his location is changing daily, so I know he is coming out and moving around, just not on my schedule. I worry about his feeding, although there are plenty of pods for him to be eating. Not sure about the status on the female. No bodies, so I'm assuming she is alive as well...

cool great to hear that he is moving about . your never there when they come out often and just bury again . thats why i use the live brine so i leave some in at all times for them . ya just never know when they will appear. i should have a couple coming this week they are on the list again and i told him to order them eating or not . they have a better chance in my tank than a bare warehouse tank .

Good luck to you too! My LFS have caught on to my Leopard addiction- one has Ornate Leopards that they've had for 12 days now (I may pick one up this week), and the other just got in two big Potter's Leopards... they're trying to tempt me

wow all i do is hear about the ever ellusive potters leopard ! i have awesome opportunities for fish and never see them on the lists . i have 5 lists a week ,if they are on there they are in such small numbers that by the time we order they are gone . im taking my time and still cant seem to get one .get one they are so cool and you can send him to me lol . just kiddn i will find one some day !

+1 on the potters, if you have a chance pick one up, and in my experience as well as with my lfs's they are a little hardier than the rest of the bunch. mine ate like a pig the first day it went in the tank and hasnt stopped since. if i had a decent camera i'd take some pics and post them. it's definately in my top 3 as far as favorite leopards go. with the bipartitus and chaoti roundeding out the top 3.

Before I left for work this morning I looked from underneath my tank, and could still see my male choati's tail. I came home from work today, and he was laying upside down in the corner of the tank, breathing slowly. I looked a moment ago and he's moved, but is still upside down and breathing slowly.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but it's gotta be something. To get the healthiest choati that Diver's Den has ever had and to have it be dying six days later tell me that something isn't right. I don't know what the status on the female is, I'm assuming she has suffered the same fate or will be shortly. I'm frustrated, I give up. I'll take my surviving bipartitus and run.

i will tell you this ,its not you or anything that you have done . they are so delicate that its like winning a lottery if you can get one to survive .they are extreemly difficult and i dont mean just tough but almost impossable to keep . it has been done but its very rare as this tread had explained throughout its writings . i hope the fmale makes it and also i would check with DD and see about a guarentee or at least some sort od compensatinon.

I just looked, the male moved again- he's taking about one breath every two seconds, extremely slow. I looked under the tank, I can see the female's tail- what do I do for her? Let her stay buried and hope she comes out some time while I'm feeding, or give her a gentle nudge so I can get some food in her?
