I'm a guy.... and I am confident enough in my masculinity that I can name my fish. :rolleye1:
Spotted Hawkfish - Turbo
Clown pair - Mr. And Mrs. Clown (we also call the female Big Mama because she's bigger than the male, she lays a lot of eggs and she snatches all the food from the other fish)
Tux Urchin - Ernie
Red Lip Blenny - Lucky Lighteningfins
Spider Decorator crab - Professor Knarles
I currently have only 3 with names - Jason - an orange backed fairy wrasse named after a rather flamboyant red headed nurse at work. Diane - a pygmy angel named after a very short nurse, and Hannibal - a 4' Undulated Moray who eats pretty much anything except fava beans.
cinnamon clown.. simply named Cinnamon
green chromis.. Manhattan because i got him at unique corals
purple dottyback..Fushia
blue damsel.. Bingo
bicolor blennie ..simply Blennie
six line wrass..KK Kris Kringle because he is green & red
yellow serpent star..Ringo get it Ringo star...
Male occ clown: Cowboy (goes with the female name)
female occ clown: Saddle (middle stripe looks like a saddle)
Male bangaii cardinal: Lotto (colors remind me of dice/ cards)
Female bangaii cardinal: Lucky (goes with male's name)
Sixline wrasse: Deportes (Spanish for "sports", and he is a sporty fish)
Named fish that live with me:
Algae blenny - Abe (A.B.)
Purple tang - Petey (P.T.)
Naso tang - Mick (Jagger since he's a lipstick tang)
Scamp grouper - Siete (since she's eaten 7 fish - I am a slow learner)
Large Domino damsel - Dot
Large Red Sea sail fin tang - Bertha just 'cause
Niger trigger - Rudy, the red tooth trigger
Matted filefish - Joe, cause he wears OD camo
And my favorite fish that are no longer with me:
mandarin dragonet - Mandy
Balloonfish - Bette Davis (she had Bette Davis eyes)
yellow tail damsel - Puppy...(both of them really want a dog)
large cleaner shrimp - whiskers
small cleaner shrimp - steve
however to me the damsel is little p***k (cause he is always stealing food from the corals and biting the whiskers of the cleaner shrimp)
and shrimp are little bast**d, and big bast**d (cause they are always ripping scabs off my hands and pulling the skin out from my cuticles, plus they steal food from the coral too)
