Let's see pics of VHO only tanks!

What would you recommend to keep zoos, mushrooms and softies? Right now I have 320W vho over tank (72x18x18 - actinic. 50/50) but I have another 160w tube (50/50) wired but not in use. I have some mushrooms now and seem to be growing ok. Will 480W be enough or too much for what I want to keep?

ally it wont be too much thats for sure. i had 440w over my 75 and my zoos grew well. now ive added 20k mh and they look even more amazing!!

Here is my 440W vho setup. 2 URI 50/50, 1 super actinic and 1 sun. I went form this:

I am debating weather i should add another 440W VHO or just retrofit 2 250W MH DE ReefoptixIII pendants. Any opinions

I added 2 400W MH DE to my system a month ago. I wish I would have spent the $600 on something else. The tank still looks good but not nearl as nice as it did with all VHO.

mike9515756, I would add the additional 440 watts of VHO ...

Thanks,

Scott

i just added dual 250w 20k XMs to my 440w VHOs and im vey happy.

*edit* i see much more growth out of my SPS now.

I just came across this post. I have a 90 Gal Reef with VHO lighting. The tank has 440 Watts with 2 Actinic Whites and 2 Actinic 3's running off of 2 Ice Cap 660. I am moving up to a 180 in the next 2 months and I think I am going to use all VHO again. I have been very happy with them so far.

I'm still working through the thread... I have a 120 gallon tank, 60" long. I got the icecap 660 ballast and just figured we would do 3 60" bulbs. I have all of the parts and the bulbs to do that. Would we be better off doing 4 48" bulbs? I have a feeling that's the way to go, but I won't be able to return my 60" bulbs, so I want to be sure.

This is a GREAT thread!

I have the same tank and use the 4' bulbs. There are shadoes on the ends but that is where I keep the lower low corals...

I also use 8 bulbs powered by 2 - 660 ballasts on my tank.

Thanks,

Scott

Another update on mine, this time it's a whole new tank!
75 gallon with 330 VHO
-1 aquasun
-1 actinic
-1 50/50

The color in the picture is a little off, but it is close.

Here's a few from my VHO only7 set-up. It's an 85G Tenecor Acrylic Flat-Back hex tank with 380 watts of VHO run on an IceCap 660 ballast. I have 1 x Actinic at the front and 3 x Actinic White toward the back.

Wow, sorry about my double post, don't know how that happened!

Jimbob, that looks great. Looks like some very nice growth!

Here is my pink 180:) I prefer the pink look of the aquasuns over the yellow/orange look of the 50/50 bulbs.
