howdy Erin :) its builder bob checking in lol

No. . . . Not my buddy, Builder Bob. Hey ---- I am ready for my tank tour in the Tampa Bay area.

Remember I will be there 9/20 til 9/27.

64ivy,

those are some great images. I particularly like the first one in the first set. Great symmetry with the two schooling fish tanks on each side. Love the whale shark images also particularly the first of the second set with the whale shark in the vertical window. Sweet! Wish I was there...

Because pics of the trade show has been covered pretty thoroughly, I thought I'd start with about a dozen of my favorite Georgia Aquarium shots.

I knew your pictures would be worth the wait! All of them are beautiful, but I think the child gazing into the tank is my favorite.

Looking forward to the second round.

Chihuahua6,
There ia a 300 gal. marineland tank here in Sumter SC. The shop is asking $2400 for the tank, stand and canopy.
It is a massive tank for sure. Marineland may be selling these to wholesalers for $1000 but not the LFS at that price.

Here's a link to some pricing from a large retailer.

http://www.thatpetplace.com

There's a link on the left hand side about 3/4 of the way down for "Glass Aquariums". Follow that and open the PDF. The Marineland/Perfecto tanks are towards the end.

($1520 for the 300g if you don't wanna follow the link)

I got one about a month ago, but not from them.

Who is this man?

Builder Bob, I'm waiting on that BK. I think that's a fair trade for a night of blissful snore free sleep, right? :)

Well, there's certainly not much I have to add in the way of pictures, especially of the trade show. But here are six more that I like, most of which are variations.

The Reef Nutrition booth seemed to attract quite a lot of interest, particularly with the advanced hobbyists and beyond.

I can't remember whose booth this tank belonged to but since we've got very few clam pics...

And, for those under 25, a rare glimpse into reefings halcyon days: These were called Books. Think 'hard copy' only they were actually printed first generation, without the aid of computers. No batteries yet portable, they were also just about the only way the early reefkeeper could get up to the...year or two information. Gaze and wonder.

Coming up, just a few more from the Aquaruim then I'm done.

Oops, I forgot a Macna one: Some drawings from the Children's Program displayed on their door.

Back to the GA, this guy was one of my favorites in the big tank. Unfortunately, I have nothing to denote scale but he was huge, maybe two feet.

I think this is a much better 'Diners-and-Whale-Shark' picture than I posted last night. Don't know why I missed it.

Charles Delbeek receiving a lifetime achievement award at the Banquet. Of course, I had a baby screaming in my ear at the time so it easily have been for something else.

Overall Banquet shot.

Great pics all! I have to say, I am glad those people running security at the Georgia Aquarium were not protecting our borders. How they found Heathers lighter is beyond me. :D

This was my first MACNA and I had a great time. Meeting and hanging out with Erin, Heather, hahnmeister, Victor, Jon Warner, Proline guys, Chris, Paul and the other Tampa Bay reefers made me wish I hadn't waited so long to attend my first MACNA. I didn't see a single speaker this year but I did enjoy just talking with other attendees. I can't wait to see you all again next year. Or sooner for some of you…….

Hey, what about me?

Randy Couture. Probably number 2 in popularity behind Liddell.

Awesome, Michael! Great pictures.
Just curious Michael, what camera and lens were you using. Unfortunately I didn't know who you were to introduce myself but I now that I know what you look like I distinctly remember you walking around with an L series lens.

I think I just became a fight fan. :D

I want to know why I didn't see any of those cute buff fighter guys, all I ran into were the crazies hanging about the lobby!
