Let's see those open-top lighting setups..

I spent $600 on this Coralife Aqualight Pro. You can also hang this fixture over the tank. I like the streamline look. I don't really care for the canopies.

Here are some photos of what I did. I am using a PFO mini pendant. I did not like the idea of the fixture hanging and I did not want this huge canopy on a little tank. So I made a small canopy to house the fixture and then hung it from the ceiling via aircraft cable. I made it out of euro-ply and routed in a piece of aluminum perf in the top to let the heat escape. I am so pleased with how it works and the ease of access that I am thinking of doing the same when I set up my 180.

This is my Coralife Aqualight Pro hung using their optional suspension kit. I really like the clean look of the light and the suspension kit took less than 20 minutes to install. It's an all-in-one lighting solution that is well worth the money.

Yes me and my dad made it.

I have 940 watts of lights on that tank, with no need for a chiller.

I really account the design of the "canopy" to run a cooler tank. Temp is 78 to 80 with the heater on at times to keep the temp stable.
