Why buy locally? All prices are controlled. Order online save yourself the taxes. Free shipping. Earn points . Establish yourself as a customer .

or you can support local stores.

Saw some at aquatouch yesterday. Looked like they had a couple different packages. Not sure on prices, but they looked in line with online pricing.

Think Reef Kona has some high end equipment, not sure if I saw an apex there.

Ya I found a place yesterday to get a shows apex system with lab grade ph probe. So I'm happy now I need to do is rack my brain on how to use this item to the fullest. Almost feels like I'm back in school have to learn and study for test.

There's certainly a learning curve. If you've ever done any sort of coding, it's pretty easy to catch on.

Neptune's own forum (there's a link under "support" on their homepage) can help out a ton however. Not only for general help, but also to gather ideas.

Not that anything Hunter says needs to be supported, but I absolutely second his advice to check out the Neptune Forums. I used ideas and sample programs I found on there to control my lights, and learn how to adjust all sorts of things.

Well worth the time!

Thanks I'm already looking into programming the system so we'll see how it goes.

Thanks again for all the feedback

Prices will be universal; Neptune has a strict MAP policy.

no they won't. MAP just means 'minimum advertised price'. You can actually sell them at any price you want. My LFS always beats or meets online pricing.

I always try to support my LFS first, then online.

Agree Map pricing is what LFS have at least sell it for. They can't sell the item at a lower price if there is a Map price. I have always tried to support LFS as long as I am able to find what I am looking for.

Let us know what fish store, so we can have them lose their wholesale privileges :lolspin::hammer::D

Actually MAP is Minimum Advertised Pricing. So technically LFS have the advantage because they can give you an unadvertised discount if they wanted to. MAP is to help keep the online stores at bay. They can sell it to you for a dollar as long as it's not advertised, this includes price tags. But typically the margins on MAP merch is slim. So why beat em up on 5% if it means buying from them means keeping people employed.

I will be looking for some accessories for the apex if someone has items that They are not using and don't need. It will be towards the end of the week after I get paid.

Price fixing would be MRP (think Ecotech). MAP just means the retailer can't advertise a lower price than what the manufacturer allows (Neptune, Coralvue, etc.).

Silef has a good video series in the Neptune section here about initial set up and simple coding.

Lot of misinformation here. No one will ever lose any license for selling below MAP. However if some clown advertises on eBay, or otherwise below MAP, swift action will ensue.
